George Sherrill put on 15-day DL
O's place Sherrill on disabled list
The Orioles lost the services of one of their best relievers Tuesday, when they placed closer George Sherrill on the disabled list with a case of inflammation in his left shoulder. Sherrill had told manager Dave Trembley that he was in pain Monday, and the team pushed him through a magnetic resonance imaging test to determine the extent of the injury.
It probably rules out any possibility of a trade, as slim as that chance was starting to seem. The guy really was not getting it done, other than notching up a lot of saves in the beginning of the season.
And the All-Star game... he's over 30 now, his ERA climbs more and more as the season wears on, and he has shoulder problems to boot.
I am starting to dislike this baseball player.

In public, now
It must be in public. SC’s rules.

Kam Mickolio recalled from Norfolk
To replace Sherrill. Hope he can patch up this ragged bullpen.

Well
At least we don’t have to watch him for a while.

I like Sherrill
He did an adequate job at a role that he was totally ill-suited for. And for a few months there he fooled everyone into thinking he was the real deal. I’m all about keeping Sherrill on this club as an 8th-inning or LOOGY for a long time, but I want JJ and RayRay only competing for closer next year.
