The Orioles optioned left-hander Garrett Olson to Triple-A Norfolk after tonight's game.
Manager Dave Trembley wouldn't reveal Olson's replacement from Norfolk, saying he has to wait until the guy reports to the ballpark. But it's Radhames Liz. We'll end the mystery.
The Red Sox optioned tonight's starter, Clay Buchholz, after the game.

Bon voy-ag-ee, Clay!
Don’t let the door hit your ass on the way out! It’s a sweet measure of revenge that we were the ones to help chase him back to Pawtucket.

This is another year down the crapper when the young pitchers were going to learn and piece it all together for a brighter future.
Remember last year when Loewen, Cabrera, and some pitcher from the minors were going to gel while supported by Bradford, Baez, and Walker?
Ok, next up: Tillman, Arrieta, Matusz, Bergesen, whoever… This is getting old.

This next crop
has more legit prospects.
Tillman and Matusz are great pitching prospects, Arrieta is pretty stinking good. I am not sold on Bergesen, Hernandez, Erbe, Butler, Patton but they add depth and I bet a couple of them will turn into solid ML starters.
It is important to remember how finicky pitching prospects are, just look at Joba, Ian Kennedy and Phil Hughes. Lets hope for better luck for our 3 (the good news is that none of ours have the injury history that Joba has).
