Poor Dodgers!
Just acknowledging a little bit of schadenfreude here.
After Stacey's post about her Dodger friend saying the Dodgers were an alternative to Stacey's "poor Orioles" a couple weeks ago, it gives me no small amount of pleasure to see that Saintly Joe has been unable to prevent a seven-game skid culminating in the Dodgers being SWEPT by the worst team in baseball, the Nationals.
The Dodgers are now a solid 3-1/2 games out of first, with six of their next 9 games against the division-leading Diamondbacks. They get a breather in the middle against the Padres, but of course have just shown that facing a last-place team doesn't necessarily mean they'll win. There are currently FIVE teams ahead of them for the wildcard, which means that if they don't get their act together in the next ten days, their season could be over.
Oh, and by the way? If they played in the same division as the Orioles right now, they'd be all of a game and a half ahead of them.

I like to look at it the other way...
if the Orioles were in THEIR division, the O’s would be running away with the division…. I mean, seriously? The division leader is only 5 games better than the Orioles? The O’s haven’t even had the pleasure of playing 72 games against the rest of that division… Could you imagine?

Ha!
I was listening to the Nats/Dodgers broadcast in the car last night for a bit. At the time it was 2-1 Dodgers (on a Manny HR, of course), so when I saw that they lost 11-2 and were SWEPT by the Nats I thought the same exact thing.

I’m more concerned about the state of your bet with AMA, Z.

Yeah..it currently stands at one game below 15.0
Is the bet 15 games, or OVER 15 games behind?

I checked today.
The magic number for the bet is 26. Not necessarily likely, but certainly not out of the question, either.
