Still no word on the extent of Adam Jones' ankle injury, but sources are confirming that the Orioles have placed their center fielder on the disabled list.
Lou Montanez didn't make that trip to Anaheim for nothing. He's been added to the 25-man roster and could make his major league debut tonight.

Here's to hoping AJ has a speedy recovery.
And that Montanez can hit the shit out of the ball at this level.
That’s a lot of hoping, I know.

Well
Montanez has a 986 OPS in Double-A. But of course that’s double a. We’re gonna miss Adam for sure.

Montanez sucks, most likely
But he’s earned his shot and I can’t do anything more than hope he’s finally legitimately found his swing.

It's broken
Schmuck surmises, and I agree, that he could be done for the year.

Gee, Andy, YA THINK?
The Orioles have placed center fielder Adam Jones on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to August 3, with a fractured left foot.It is expected that Jones will be out from four to six weeks, meaning that there is a possibility his season is over.
“There are no indications long-term,” said Orioles president of baseball operations Andy MacPhail, who said the club will be cautious with the 23-year-old outfielder and not rush him back just for the sake of playing a couple of weeks. “We’ll see how he progresses, how things go. At this point, I don’t know for certain. We’ll just let events play out.”
MacPhail acknowledged that Jones is a big loss for the club both on the field and in the clubhouse.

Man, what a shame
The guy seemed to be really coming into his own and now this big interruption.

At least they're not doing anythng stupid.
The FO recognizes he’s a cornerstone, and there’s no point running him out there injured.
