Thanks for the assist

Loved that show as a kid.

Been spending all weekend reading about McCain’s pick. And laughing my ass off.

Sorry for the politics. GO O’S!

As a rule...

I don’t mess with ANYONE about names. Pot, meet kettle, you see. Of course, I didn’t pick my last name.

But “C-I-L-L My Landlord” was hilarious on SNL.

They’re overreacting to Lou not getting a start in Boston, he’s gotten into a lot of games, and well, Jay is a better LF than him at this moment, and he’s been swinging a hot bat, as well.

Someone in the Orioles front office absolutely HATES Nolan Reimold, he isn’t even getting consideration. His numbers in a year and a half at Bowie are very solid and the most action he is getting is the AFL.

Regarding Orioles Hangout: I just fundamentally disagree with so many things on that site. They all want to add Sheets/Sabathia/Garland/Burnett along with Tex to contend for one year; they assume that Mora/Huff/Roberts would all keep it up. And in no way should Jay be starting over Lou, see my fanpost.

We are losing them in Baltimore style. This is a typical Orioles stretch where they will lose 11 of 13 games. It is one thing to lose every other series to a good team, but the Orioles are on the verge of getting swept every time they go out.

They probably feel that this “competitive” Orioles team is much to do with Millar bringing “chemistry.” I like Millar and I’m sure he adds something to the post-game chatter, but he doesn’t do much in helping us win games with his bat. He remains overlooked defensively, though.

no

He is not. He’s a guy that has no business in the majors outside of the fact that he’s an OK glove — which is made to look like some kind of Gold Glover after the turds we put up with before him this season — and can handle both middle infield positions with relative ease. He cannot hit to save his life, he’s never been able to hit, and he’s 36 years old. He is a terrible player and the fact that he’s won out as the best shortstop on this team in 2008 is an absolute travesty and a serious measure of guilt against Fahey, Hernandez, Bynum and Cintron, all of whom should probably just stop playing baseball since they couldn’t hold down a major league job enough to not be spanked by Juan fucking Castro.

Again I'm not sure this was necessarily a good indication of the type of pitcher he is.

He only had 18 BBs in 52 innings this year at AAA, so that’s not bad. 59 K and 41 hits. With those numbers and the stuff I just saw I’d like to give him a chance.

A nice dose of September Sucktitude, the kind we know and love.

Good to see Dr. Jones on the field again. And that’s it for the good news.

In an unrelated development, a mediocre UCLA team throws 4 interceptions in the first half and still beats yet another non-conf (SEC) "powerhouse" , 18th ranked Tennessee, whose coach says "we will play better teams than UCLA this year."

Good call, coach. You may remember Powerhouse Tennessee from last year, when they were SEC champs, opening their season with a 14 pt. loss to Cal. Does that tell you something about conferences?

I happened to see last month’s SI NCAA f-ball issue yesterday. Wow, straight outta 1975 or something, with fearsome Ohio State on the cover. That team would finish in the middle of the Pac 10. Look at their schedule: Youngstown St., Ohio U., Troy and a bunch of Powerhouse Big 10 teams. Oh well, 10 days hence they’ll play the one legit game on their schedule, SC, get their lunch handed to them, as usual, and nobody but Sports Illustrated will be surprised, yawn.

Meanwhile, we’ve got a chance tonight, eh? Sure it’s Liz, but hey, the Sawx are giving us our chance to get in the Kick Lester Around line, which is rapidly extending. Should be fun. On YES, Moose is down to his last-last chance to keep the 20 W season going. Good luck, dude (duck et al. notwithstanding).

And speaking of duck, I noticed an NYT piece the other day on Metallica. On the off-chance you didn’t see it, here’s the link (and apologies if you’re tired of people sending it to you; I get a lot of stuff sent to me by well-intentioned family & friends who figure Hey, this article’s about Russia— I’ll send it to Titov!).

OK, go O’s!
