Cleveland Indians at Baltimore Orioles, Sep 10, 2008 7:05 PM EDT

Lefty Scott Lewis makes his MLB debut for Cleveland today, facing Chris "Whoa, Black" Waters.

Here's a proper preview. I don't FEEL like doing all that HTMLing. I'm so punk rock.

Scott Lewis v. Chris Waters

My best game plan is to sit on the bench and call out specific instructions like 'C'mon Boog,' 'Get ahold of one, Frank,' or 'Let's go, Brooks.' -Earl Weaver

I'm dying to see some good baseball tonight

Please make it happen boys!

Good as in a win?

Or good as in moving up in the draft order?

Shit in one hand, hope in the other

See which one fills up first.

Nothing personal, N.O. But after last night’s fuck off, I’m done with this team for the year. They’re certainly doing nothing to disprove it tonight either.

I always say follow your dreams...even if they're about a giant spider with your father's head, and he keeps stealing your p*nis!

I suggest you start watching the Rays

They were tough last night. The difference between them and the O’s is embarrassing.

there will be no win. only loss.

Yes, I should say that, which, I should say that.

by thewaywardO on Sep 10, 2008 7:44 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

the radio announcers are talking about the Rays/RS series

Given that Kevbo needs to go, my need motto is free Dan Johnson. He’s cheap and a decent player. Certainly just as good as Kevbo. So I’ll say it again, REPLACE KEVBO WITH DAN JOHNSON.

Waters in a jam now

A walk a double and a HBP – bases loaded.

He’s getting behind on the count a lot lately too.

I really hope he enjoyed that first start

and took lots of souveniers and had friends take pictures, because that might be his only positive memory of being a major leaguer.

And Bass is starting tomorrow.

The O’s have cornered the market on replacement level players.

i can honestly say

in most previous years i have felt the twinge of sadness as the season wound down. even though team stunk.

this year i’m not sure i’ll miss ’em that much. they just stink and all the fun guys are either hurt or acting hurt.

Yes, I should say that, which, I should say that.

me too

Last year, I was too busy moving across the country so I tuned out the O’s last Sept, but normally, I’m trying to take the last bit of baseball before it ends. This year, I don’t care. if the season ended today, I think a part of me would be happy.

You mean they're STILL playing?

Wow, hadn’t noticed.

OT: Mediafire

I started using Mediafire for my zip files, and a couple won’t upload. They’re under the size limit for Mediafire, and they were all created at the same time as other, successful uploads. Any thoughts as to why they wouldn’t go through? Have I not dug far enough in Mediafire?

The myth of "playing all 27 outs" dies

All that fire from earlier in the season—absolutely out. I can ‘t really blame them, though. Not much point in playing hard when your pitching is guaranteed to blow it anyway. Huff is playing for himself, I’m afraid.

this is awful

Just about anything is better then watching the Orioles. At least bring up some exciting YOUNG players

Gosh, the Sawx got their lunch handed to them again. But... but-- they're CHAMPEENS! Is there No God?!?

Two remarkable things about this series:

(1) The Rays took 2 outta 3 in Fenway by going 2 for 36 with runners in scoring position. They’re not a great hitting team in any case, but imagine if they’d been anywhere near their normal offensive output. The Sawx can relax and fade into well-deserved obscurity: Toronto is a better team now, and Minnesota may be.

(2) At least the Sawx announcers haven’t lost their sense of humor. During last night’s game they were complaining— without the slightest hint of irony — that the umpires were against them. I’m not making this up. I’ll repeat that for those of you who may have turned the volume down during our last commercial interruption: THE RED SOX ANNOUNCERS WERE COMPLAINING THAT THEIR OPPONENTS WERE GETTING ALL THE CALLS.

Now, I like a little irony as much as the next guy. But that one had me rolling on the floor til my sides hurt. Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

"Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning." Churchill,1942-- a rebuilding year.

I don't think

he meant as in “Better than the Red Sox.” Just better and possibly on their way to being better than the God’s of Baseball.

Kevbo: [to George Sherrill] George, you look a lot like Vin Diesel...

Flatbill: Let's get somethin' straight... Vin Diesel looks like me.

That was a fun game

Good to see Chad Bradford getting the job done. Jason Bay couldn’t deliver the knock up punch in the late innings. Go Rays!
