The Front Office Sticks It Squarely Up My [Hindquarters]... Again!
I was pleased with how easy it was to exchange tickets after the oakland game was rained out, but after Friday's twins game was ppd, I made a special trip to the goddamn stadium just to pick up my tickets from will call, to use them the next day.
But when I got there the next day, right at game time, Was stopped at the gate and told I would have to exchange my tickets FOR A GAME PPD LESS THAN 24 HOURS AGO. Apparently, everyone else was told the same thing, and we were made to stand in line for NEARLY AN HOUR with people walking through the line perpendicularly, brushing up against me every 30 seconds and saying "oh, scuse me."
By the time we got in the score was already 4-1 twins (thanks, Cabs!) and the game was all but over. We left in the 7th, rather than see them give up 12 in each end of the double header.
So if you get rained out... show up early I guess.

Yeah, that sucked
Ticket lines in general have been really bad this year. I think they changed their software or something, and whatever they have now must be a total bomb. One time I was caught in massive lines five minutes before a game, and no one was moving, because the system and crashed.
Plus, they never have enough people manning the windows at peak times.
I had to exchange my ticket for that game to, although it sounds like my wait wasn’t as bad as yours. Maybe its because I wasn’t at the main ticket window – I went to the one on the north side, near the scalp free zone. There was some wait, but it sounds like yours was much worse.

That's the best window to go to
on Camden Street near the Scalp Free. It hardly ever has any crowds because everyone goes to the Warehouse. Also if you’re looking to get a promotional item, any of those smaller gates is a better bet because everyone goes in on Eutaw St.

Hmm
While I sympathize with your bad luck I have to say 2 things:
1) You complain… a lot… over minor things.
2) You got there right at game time when you should’ve gotten there early incase something like this would happen.
Shit happens, but making a big post with LOTS OF CAPS and random bold lettering over something you are partly responsible for is stupid.

Yes. I do complain a lot.
but its the internet. that’s what its for. that and porn. If I didn’t like to kvetch, I’d probably be a sox fan, now wouldn’t I?
And just for the record, I like to show up in time for BP, but when you go with a date she sometimes has other ideas.

the date....
There is no reason to blame your date. If you’re really close to (her/him) they should know how much this team means to you. And they would be willing to get there early with you.
Of course, if this is a 1st or 2nd date — this is the wrong place to bring someone. You can’t enjoy the game to the fullest while trying to carry on a conversation to impress.
This is the reason why my wife didn’t attend a game with for a few years. Now… she understands and she accepts my “GAME RULES.” 1) Get there early (well before the 1st pitch – sometime BP, but not always) 2) Stay until the final out. I love “free baseball” (extra inning games). 3) It will be a bad day, if my team doesn’t win. I’m surprised I haven’t had a hernia yet (especially in the past 15 years).

Fairy Tale
I don’t know…mine was cool with making a stop in Baltimore for two nights in July and taking in two ballgames…all while with child. Got there early, ate some BBQ, watched some BP…
