What are we going to do with Luke Scott next season? Lou Montanez has been looking decent, and we got some prospects down in double A that may be on our opening day roster that are better fielders then Luke. Does that leave Luke as being a DH and Huff at first, or is he going to be a pinch hitter.
Most likley Millar will be gone or a bench player an Huff at first an Scott at DH. Geez I hope Millar is gone, love the guy but time to go.

1. There’s a chance Luke Scott could be traded.
2. Luke Scott is by far the most proven of them all.
3. Lou Montanez is not a good player due to 90 average at-bats. Luis Hernandez was not a good player just because he hit .290 for 69 ABs. If the choice is Scott or Montanez, we’d be insane to choose Montanez.
4. The only guy beating Luke Scott should be Nolan Reimold.

It really seems like we've been over this before
Again and again.

The case for Luke
He’s a little tricky. He’s the first solid LF the O’s have had in years and he’s an all around likable guy, so it’s easy to want to keep him. I also happen to think he’s quite pretty but, you know, that shouldn’t have any bearing on anything. But I think it’s quite possible that Luke has greater value to us than he does in a trade. He is 30 years old, which makes him seem like he’s a good piece to be moved, but he’ll still be relatively cheap for a number of years to come, which is good for the team. And I’m not sure what sort of pieces the team could get in return for him for a 30 year old OF who has only played full time one year, no matter how much power he flashes. I’d say explore it, definitely, but don’t be surprised if he ends up being more valuable in LF for the next few years than he is on the trading block.
Oh and I like Lou a lot so far, but let’s not get out of control here. He’s got a long way to go before he proves more useful than Luke Scott, or more importantly, Nolan Reimold.
