Season Tickets - Questions, Concerns, Etc.
So I'm gonna make an investment into this team. I've been to 10 games this summer, with 2 more coming on Tuesday (I pray to God i can see Guts this season). Well, gosh darn, I say to myself, don't season ticket packages start at 13 games?
So I'm just gonna do it. First of all, the benifits sound pretty good. It's basically like the Orioles think you're the shit if you get season tickets. Of course, the best benifit of season tickets is that you get the first chance to buy playoff tickets. Which MIGHT happen in 2-4 years, hopefully.
I was just wondering how many season-ticket, or season-package, holders we have here? The Orioles won't let me see how much money I can expect to spend/save until I put down a nonrefundable $100/seat deposit.
I'm not planning on getting that $200 together for at least a few weeks. I would be planning on getting the $40, lower "orange section" seats. Does anyone have a good idea on how much these seats cost at the lower rates?
And finally, I'm just proud to finally do this

don't ever buy baseball tickets in advance
you give the owners, not to mention the weatherman, too much power over your life

Yes, I should say that, which, I should say that.

What do you mean by that?
Are you talking about the threat of them stealing money from me somehow?
Or does buying season tickets indicate that you care about baseball “too much” ?

I've never had season tix
Although I always tell myself that if there is ever a year where they actually look promising, I’ll plunk down the cash. I go to enough games to warrant a 13 game plan, but I really do like to sit all over at the stadium.
As far as season ticket prices compared to regular season, I don’t know what sort of fees and such they charge, but if you go to orioles.com and find the ticket prices, each level shows the price for single game tickets and season tickets, do it shouldn’t be too hard to get a rough estimate.

I wish I could do this
Three years in LA, and then I am back east for good.

I found the seats
yeah, sorry for this lame fan post (I’m learning…)
But I realized that the goal here is to not save money on individual seats (13 games, two seats, on the red terrace box seats would cost $832), but rather to just lock up 13 games, save a little bit of money, avoid paying the prime game rate on a few games, and of course getting into the playoffs if that ever happens. And you get like a bunch of free stuff too.
So i’m just getting $15 seats, which is the seats I buy individually anyway. I go to 12 games this year, 4 prime games, so doing this for next year would actually save me something like $20 compared to this year.
Somewhere from 55-61. As long as there isn’t limited vision. I’ll check out the seats before my next game…

You should wait and go to tag day
They have every year where you go to the park and any seat with a tag on it is a seat that is available for purchase is tagged. You can sit in it, see the price, decide if it’s good for you, and then talk to the season ticket reps right there. My friend and I call it “Far and Away Day” because we like to imagine people lining up at the gates and racing to stake their claims.

awesome.
I’m gonna have to find the date for that, but that sounds great.

The Caps
The Caps let people who put down a deposit or have already bought a season plan come to that tag day, too, and you can upgrade to better seats if you like. I’m sure if you put your deposit down you can go to “Far & Away Day” (nice one, Stacey) and make the final decision.
