Blue Jays 10, Orioles 1: Goodbye, 2008
The "Orioles Magic" fell flat in the final month, and the team went out with the whimper it was expected to play with all season.
Final record: 68-93
The O's managed to play 161 games in a 162-game season.
Ryan Braun just went yard to put the Brewers up 3-1 in the 8th. People are crying. Ugly people. Milwaukee-level ugly. It's crazy.
Mets are blowing it again.
Both the Twins and White Sox are winning.
This is a fun day. Smell ya later, 2008 Orioles. I don't have the time right now.

I'm not even sad
I’m usually sad when the Orioles quit playing. Can’t even care anymore.
We still have the playoffs. If only the Red Sox weren’t going to be in them. That would be so sweet.
Not like I have the time to watch baseball anyway. Sigh.

Doesn't matter
the Angels will get rid of them soon enough.
Kevbo: [to George Sherrill] George, you look a lot like Vin Diesel...
Flatbill: Let's get somethin' straight... Vin Diesel looks like me.

Not a minute too soon.
Yet another “year one of the multi-year rebuilding plan” comes to a close. What does a bona-fide year two look like?
Writing is God's way of showing you how sloppy your thinking is.

Brewers in the playoffs. Ha!

That's awesome
Shea Stadium WILL NOT be missed. What a dump.

Thank gosh
my knee jerk “Brewers for the WS!” statement was starting to look a wee bit doubtful.

It's over?
Thank God. Now I can start paying attention to the Orioles again.

Moose wins 20! Congrats to him, and I hope he doesn't retire (which is the prevailing wisdom, apparently)

Yep
He’d actually be a perfect fit for the Orioles on a one year deal.

i dunno if he'd go that far
I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Yankees bring him back, anyway. Two year deal or a one year deal with a player option, maybe. Kinda like they did for Andy Pettite.
The Yankees can afford the risks of old players on two year deals, and somebody’s gotta pitch next year, even if they get Sabathia.

Dammit!
Way to let me down, Red Sox.

I was at the suckfest today
And they were selling last year’s programs, apparently hoping no one would notice. No lie.
"The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again."

hey Titov!
My deleting of the screwy post deleted several posts! Ha! State of the fart over here!

You killed Kenny! You b*stard!
Can’t you make him come alive again? Do I really have to recreate that whole post from (drug-deluded) memory? Be a pal…
