I needed a break from the beginning of the semester rush, so I created some Obamicons for ya'll. Follow the links below each one to rate them. Enjoy and get to work on your own! I'm sure others can make better ones.
Note: I tried to center all these images to make it look nicer but couldn't figure it out. Anyone who wants to jump in and help is welcome to do so.

Well, the *better* commie propaganda. Still, my fave is anti-commie: the Che icon pic-- with a big pie splattering against it and the caption
IS NOTHING SACRED?
I wish I could get it on a t-shirt…

I like this, too: http://che-mart.com/ but this is what I want on the shirt: http://www.marksverylarge.com/issues/7201.html
I don’t know how to get that image into the cafepress, ‘cause I’m techtarded.

don't worry...
8 years provided a lot humor, at least, to those on the other side. So these next 4 or 8 years won’t be too bad for you. Plus Obama is a D, and Ds always fuck things up like Russ Ortiz!

Like half of my friends on Facebook have these
I think Obama has become a cult of personality among the youth

Also
Did anyone see the interview with the guy who created the original Obama version on The Daily Show? He came off as a huge douchebag. That is all.

Kennedy dying made him the symbol that he is today. So many people remember him as a President who had so much “potential,” but was unfortunately taken from America far too early.

Getting shot can do wonders for your agenda
LBJ had a real easy time getting voting rights through in ‘64, yes? I mean, when even Thurmond couldn’t keep a fillibuster going, you know it’s game over.
And Reagan’s “DOA” budget suddenly came back to life after he got shot.

Not that I don't like him
but too many young kids are taking all of his words as gospel.
I do like the fact that there are so many new kids in the process, but I am not into the whole blank check thing. I want to believe in hope, but let’s see some fucking results.

I’m still saying I’m glad Obama’s the one in charge. The thought of Phil Gramm running the Treasury would keep me up at night.

I love Obama
and certainly voted for him. but i never liked those Obama pictures. It looks to much like we’re following a profit. We shouldn’t get behind individuals, but ideas.
Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words—"mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

I'm not defending the goofy pictures
Or any of the other Obama-centric marketing fads that have emerged. I think it’s crass. I was just defending the notion that cults of personality aren’t necessarily all bad.

That would be fringe pitching prospect
Brandon Erbe. If he pans out, I could see him on the back end of the rotation. He was much more highly regarded before we went and restocked the minors with good pitching.

Eh
I wouldn’t call him fringe. Erbe is arguably our best pitching prospect outside of the big three.

Agreed
He certainly could be #4. He hasn’t been terribly impressive the last two years though. His ERA has been a bit higher than expected, especially considering he has had two straight years at Frederick. I still think he has potential, but this year could be his make or break. I guess that is why I put him on the fringe, but luckily Brandon is still pretty young and certainly has time on his side.

Sickels just ranked Erbe the #50 pitching prospect in baseball.
So he’s good enough to be the #2 pitching prospect on a lot of teams.
He’s had his ups and downs, but he’s young, projectible, and strikes out a ton of guys.
He’s a lot more than fringe.
by dkdc on Jan 27, 2009 4:11 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
but this year could be his make or break.
I’ll agree, but you can say that about most prospects. After repeating high A, I think that his performance in Bowie may be pretty indicative.
More likely, Erbe becomes a power pitcher out of the bullpen, which isn’t a bad thing.

I had the pleasure
of chatting with Brandon’s parents at a few games in Frederick last year. They are from the B-more area and raised him as an O’s fan. Imagine that, a hometown boy that wanted to stick to his roots!! It is interesting to hear about the personal side of a player’s life from people who know him better than anyone. I wish the best for Brandon and the Erbe fam, can’t wait to see him in Bowie this year.

By the way,
just to clear up the whole ‘fringe’ thing…which of our minor leaguers would you list in this category? After some careful re-evalution, I settled on the likes of Brad Bergesen, Chorye Spoone, and Tim Bascom. Look out for Zach Britton, he should be in Frederick this year and I think we will be hearing from him in the next few years…

fringy
I would not classify Spoone or Britton fringy, as they still have some potential to be solid major leaguers. I think fringy could be used to describe Berken and Bergeson and Blake Davis.

Spoone's as fringe as they get if you ask me
