We're all very different people. We're not Watusi. We're not Spartans. We're Americans, with a capital 'A', huh? You know what that means? Do ya? That means that our forefathers were kicked out of every decent country in the world! We are the wretched refuse. We're the underdog. We're the Open Thread!

Can I just say that I definitely am a fan of
The best records of the leagues are in the championship series?
You know these teams won the most games over a 162-game schedule? Maybe they’re the BEST teams, in that sense. I hate it when last year’s Angels lose in the first round. WHen Boston almost came back to beat Tampa last year, I was going crazy. “Tampa Bay won a lot more games! Boston doesn’t deserve to go to the World Series!”

Then why have playoffs?
I mean, if you decide that the regular season determines the best team (which you can argue) then why would you even bother with something else designed to decide which team is best in a different way?

Best quote ever form that Yahoo article
RHP Matt Albers finished a tough season on a high note. Albers earned the win, improving to 3-6, with a shutout inning including two strikeouts. Manager Dave Trembley has asked that Albers comes back in 2010 in better physical condition if he plans on sticking with the club out of spring training.

Red Sox Seek Answers and Dismiss Nostalgia
This just in: Red Sox wake up and discover they’re not as good as they thought, and may not be for a while.

I wish
that Baltimore Business Journal piece had stats on how many from the DC area (aka the Nats market) watched the O’s on MASN. Because damn if I didn’t do my part to raise the Orioles TV ratings. And it would be interesting to see how many households outside of Baltimore watch the O’s.

There was an article
earlier in the year about how the O’s outdraw the Nats in the Nats market.

Ratings were up but attendance was down.

Man, the O’s ratings are bad, but the Nats are just abysmal.

Oooh fascinating!!
This is exactly what I was wondering about. So in DC, 2,000-ish more households watch the O’s than the Nats… ha! Nice. Thanks Stacey!
