Phils rock Dodgers, take 2-1 series lead

Another Canadian blog says the O's want John McDonald
"At short, there are the likes of Orlando Cabrera, Alex Cora, Bobby Crosby, Adam Everett, Alex Gonzalez, Khalil Greene, Miguel Tejada, Jack Wilson and the Jays' own John McDonald, whom both the Baltimore Orioles and the Philadelphia Phillies have an interest in." Say it with me - We don't want John McDonald. -duck

Oops
You’re right….hmmm I copied and pasted right from my browser window as I was reading the article. If you want to read this guy’s Oriole all time team (and some funny comments), just go to DugoutCentral.com and it’s right there on the main page….

I don't buy it
Why would Andy MacPhail start his offseason with targeting a backup infielder when he is by all accounts happy with Robert Andino. And – oh yeah – there are some real fucking pressing issues to deal with on the roster?
So, it’s gibberish. And I’m not buying it.

why ?
Why in the world would we want John McDonald? He is 35-36 with a career .237 average.
Why would he be an upgrade from Izzy?

i know nothing about the guy,
but maybe they’re thinking he’s better than Andino, not Izzy.

I dont think I like that either
Dino is still young and could still surpise us a bit. I’d take Dino 100% of the time over McDonald.

Some fun reading for today
Gamethreads for Birdland Day, June 30th 2009.
GameThread One (it’s the bad part, but you have to set the scene)
GameThread Two (it’s the awesome part. I just read it and was thoroughly entertained)

ha I'm reading part one now
In which I said
1) Hendo is the reliever that makes me turn off the television, and
2) Brian Matusz won’t even be in the rotation in 2010.

From the WaPo article
He thought of his own career trajectory — from a young second baseman considered a future star, to a lowly utility man forced to carry four gloves to every game — and the 12 big league seasons he played without sniffing the postseason, until this year.
Future star? Ha! Hairston was never considered a hot prospect. Like Brian Roberts, he was considered to be a so so prospect that projected to be a solid regular AT BEST.

But he's a Yankee now
and that means one thing: rewrite history to fit a more dramatically fitting narrative!
