I'm terribly vexed.

Too bad the O's don't play in the AFL, huh? We'd be cleaning up.

Pie and the dominican league
The pic led to me check in on old felix you love steroids. It seems he hasn’t played yet. But what seems alarming is that the dominican clubs sport rosters of close to 50 players. How does that work?
I have no idea
I was wondering that myself when I was looking to the rosters. Although it appears that the numbers of pitchers is especially disproportionate. Not all the players even have numbers listed, including Pie. I was wondering where I could learn more about it.

some very quick research
tells me that the players without numbers won’t join the teams (at least officially) until later and that they rotate players in and out during the season. Pie will be one of the players to join later.

I'm not sure
I know that when Miguel Tejada would go down there, it would be just for the playoffs. And for this year, Aramis and Hanley Ramirez are both listed on the roster. I’m sure no one will see them until the playoffs. But would that apply to a player like Pie? I sort of thought that was just for the stars.

ugh
I thought that was going to be something worse than what it was.

or rather
I was afraid it was going to be something worse. That’s more accurate.

The Dodgers not going to the World Series hurts
After the Bell trade the general feeling I got on True Blue LA was “We better get to the World Series otherwise this would be a stupid deal.” And the Dodgers didn’t go to the World Series.
The Dodgers gave up two reallly good prospects for a relief pitcher and when they needed that pitcher to perform he just didn’t. And who knows that we’ll get out of Josh and Steve.

Yeah it sucks a little
But a) it can be argued that Sherrill helped get the Dodgers into the postseason, and 2) I don’t care about the future of the Dodgers or the pain felt by the fanbase.
it was a risk worth taking
The Dodgers fans feel that way in the long run but when you’re in the position they were in that’s when you trade prospects for a piece like Sherrill. I feel kinda bad for teams/fans like the Mariners who traded pieces of their future for no real reason other than their GM was dumb. The Dodgers just played in the NLCS, no reason to have regrets.

i dont know what comes after a) and 2)
but they have sherril for a whole nother year. still too early i think to judge in andy’s favor
And who knows whether either of the pieces they gave up even amount to anything.
Sherrill was a huge contributor as far as getting them to the playoffs, so I doubt they’re complaining.
They do have sherrill for another 2 seasons…
