O's 6, Blue Jays 3: No 100 losses this year!

Tonight was a fun game. Wieters Weiners, Eat More Esskay, the fix is in, duck, and myself met up for the game and we weren't disappointed. Mark Hendrickson pitched another good game, allowing 3 ER in 6.1 innings.

Jeff Fiorentino was the hero tonight with two  hits and 2 RBI. Lou Montanez also had two hits. DEAL WITH IT.

I said on Friday that I wanted the sweep and the O's are poised to do just that. Jeremy Guthrie will take the mound as the O's go for their fourth win in a row.

No MBP???

Nice to hit 63 wins. It doesn’t really mean a lot in the grand scheme, but it sure feels like it does.

Sad to see Ricciardi finally fired. Last thing we need is competent management for the BJs.

Unfortunately, the number 2 pick is probably going to Pittsburgh, but the Orioles will definitely get number 3, so that’s something.

Trust me dude, it was all I could do to write that.

I put in a MBP poll, since Stacey is too HAMMERED.

I'll tell you what

Stacey totally gave JJ the confidence to not suck very hard. Sorry to pick, Stacey ;). My god how I wish Pie was there. That would have been great.

I know, I missed Pie

He was out on the field giving his jersey to someone though before the game. Sadly it was not me.

Yes! <100 losses! That’s something to build on.

I wonder if I can bill Jeff Lurie and Peter Angelos for the years of therapy their teams are going to put me through.

Something to reflect on.

Mark Hendrickson finished the year with the third-best ERA of all Orioles starting pitchers (4.37, behind Koji and Bergesen), and tied for third in victories (6, behind Guthrie and Bergesen).

Just for fun, take a look at how the news of his signing was greeted here at CC last December.

And some of the names in that comment thread? Yeah, that’s a walk down memory lane as well.

that's not really true

His ERA as a starter is 5.56 and 3.34 as a reliever.

Don’t get me wrong, I ended up liking Hendrickson way more than I thought I would, but let’s not act like he was the third best starter. When you take out his relief stats his ERA is higher than every starter besides Rich Hill, Adam Eaton, and Jason Berken.

that's an excellent point.

i’d still be happy to have him back in middle/long relief.

I'm only slightly happier with him than I expected to be.

And this was my contribution to that thread:

FUCK!! This is not good. Not good. I have to watch this worthless lanky piece of shit pitch every 5th day now?

The hitters of the AL East are probably cheering this move…

The game was extremely satisfying.

I mean like I can’t hear too well in a loud environment but I love baseball games and man was there a good atmosphere tonight. Hendo got a GOOD ovation.

I wish my sister remembered her camera. She is only 16 and she has a $300 camera that she saved up like months for.

I get to go see melmo's last game as an Oriole.

I’m excited.

I missed the game

But when I saw the score on the bar I started yelling and cheering in the bar, everyone thought I was mad. I demanded the bartender make orange colored shots and give them out to everyone I knew. 63!
