The Changing of the O's - Pitching

Every starter for the O's since 2007, with number of starts in parentheses. Only Guthrie has survived. 2010 is the list of starters currently in the O's system who could make the rotation at some point. I didn't include Koji or Hendo as they'll hopefully be in the bullpen the entire year. One thing I'll say for the O's in 2009 is they cut down on the slop (Adam Eaton excepted).

Oh, Kurt Burkins. I remember you well...

Can I pay someone to hit me with a wrench until I forget that memory?

I hear Nina is giving out face punches if you're interested.

The 2007 end-of-the-year

collapse was the hardest to watch, IMO. Those damned Victors…ugh.

They just weren’t competitors.

That's a lot of bad memories

I’ll throw out my least favorite: Dennis Sarfate’s starting experiment. It was uncannily a lot like just forfeiting.

Not to mention

watching his post game interviews made me want to kill myself.

Those were some of the most depressing events

I’ve ever witnessed in sports. Poor guy knew he had no business starting, and yet they kept sending him back out there…

FWIW ...

There are 163 starts listed for 2009

You added those all up?

Wow. Now I’m gonna have to go recheck my math.

It might have to due with the suspended game(s)

against the Jays and White Sox.

That one I can answer!

The Orioles only played 161 games in 2008. They had a game that got rained out (against Oakland, maybe?) that they never made up because there was no good time and neither team had a chance at the postseason.
