As you have noticed, Camden Chat looks a little different today.
The goal for this change is to make the sites cleaner and make the posts more readable. This new design also aims to improve the load time for pages. That's not such an issue at the moment, but we've all seen how slow the pages can get during the season.
It looked weird to me at first as well, but the more I see it the more I like it. If you have any feedback please provide it and I'll pass it on to the big muckity mucks.

If the goal is to make the sire cleaner...
then great. If it’s to make it more readable, well, thats more about treading lightly and carrying a big banning stick.

I think people
stopped worrying about making their sire cleaner in the 19th Century. Maybe earlier.

It doesn't render the same way in different browsers
I have it open in Chrome, Firefox 3.5.4, and IE7 and it looks a little different in each browser window.
It also looks a little too cluttered for my tastes, but I’ll probably get used to it. It seems like the center column on the main page just gets narrower with each redesign.

the center column isn't any narrower
It might be an illusion due to the lack of separation as well as all of the white on the sides where before it was black. I haven’t checked it out in IE yet; I’ll take a look.

Yeah you're probably right
Once I switched between Narrow and Wide a few times, wide started to look normal again.

Why the hell do you need all those different browsers??

I usually use chrome for personal stuff and firefox for work stuff
It just works out that way for me. And IE is on every Windows computer out there, so…

If you have multiple Google and/or Yahoo accounts
it saves A LOT of time logging out and logging in on the correct one

I have probably at least a half dozen browsers installed on my laptop
I only ever really use firefox, but some of the others are fun to play around with when the release new features.

It looks fine.
I just think the font is a little off for sports. It has an air about it. Not as bad as like an art gallery. But still a little too clean and modern for sports, particularly baseball.

I should specify...
…I’m referring to the font on the headers in the center, stories column.

Yes the font has been quite a topic
I don’t know if any changes will be made, but it’s been brought up a ton. The design is all SB Nation but they are listening to what works and doesn’t work.

I'm not a fan of the headline font, either
I liked teh smaller, but bold typeface used previously, although I could get used to the left-justified position. It’s more like a traditional newspaper, with which old farts like me are comfortable.
