Outfielders Justin Christian and Nolan Reimold both contributed two-run home runs to the Baltimore effort, and Reimold returned later to dump a two-run single. Christian, Reimold and Brian Roberts all drew walks in the fifth inning, and Scott Moore drilled a three-run homer in the sixth.
Danys Baez made his long-awaited return to the mound Thursday and retired the first two batters he faced, but then he walked three straight batters and allowed a two-run single. Matt Albers faced the minimum amount of batters in two innings, and Chris Ray retired the side on nine pitches.

And for some reason
all we heard on the radio was Ray talk. No Joe Angel :(

So glad Baez sucked today.
I don’t want the team to waste a roster spot under some delusion that he won’t suck this year. It would be just like them to send down some deserving hurler to make room for Baez because he got two batters out in a row.
I agree with the dog above.
Do. Not. Want. No. Baez.
Also happy to see Fat Albers set them down in order.

Loewen
There’s a “Loewen” playing OF for the Blue Jays in the last two games.
Would this be our boy Adam?
Anybody want to lay some money on his chances of making the team?

bout sums it up...
but a little piece of me died when i saw that mike bordick was in jays camp as an infield instructor.

Loewen def will NOT make the big club
And I actually wouldn’t be surprised to see him released following the spring if he does nothing. His performance in Hawaii Winter Ball was terrible, although it was limited duty. He slugged .207…need I say more.

Sad thing is Wieters went 0-2.
I’m about ready to write him off.

I hope Reimold makes the team. He might actually be as good as Pie.

I gotta tell ya,
I don’t feel like Pie’s defense is enough of a difference maker if his bat sucks like most tend to think it will. NOLAN REIMOLD CAN HIT, I have seen it first hand and I don’t really care what many experts think. The only reason Felix is even here is because of his ties to Andy. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to see Pie blossom with us, but I don’t think Nolan is getting a fair shake.

I love the smell of 11-3 victory in the morning. It smells like napalm!
Hah, guess we singed their frickin’ NPL behinds! And now that we’re 1-1, I’d say we should retire from ST and take our massively intimidating, 11-3-whomping, .500-playing arses north.
Shame about giving Wieters a bus ticket after that collar, but them’s the breaks o’ the game, specially when we don’t have a lot of time to rebuild here. Hit or sit, pal, and sit means on the Big Dog.
Mystery Moment: How did Danys retire TWO CONSECUTIVE BATTERS? (Actually, I think SC exaggerates the horrendous badness of his original signing; given the numbers then, on-the-field and actuarial, it wasn’t that bad a deal. It was a risk signing that went postal, as some do.) But yeah, I pray that he has a borderline ST, so he can somehow fit into a trade for an actual pitcher. Maybe. Please.

Danys Baez made his long-awaited return to the mound

To be fair
I’m sure it was long-awaited from Danys’s point of view.

Their GM already shot it down
John Mozeliak said that they’d just bus some pitchers over from their own minor league camp. What a party pooper.

Interesting quote from "one club official":
“Conversely, the pitching-thin Orioles have 37 pitchers in camp. Of those, one club official estimated about 21 are legitimate major-league candidates.”
Whoa, we have 21 legit ML pitchers? Or did the line originally read “one club official, who refused to take a breathalyzer test, estimated about 21…”?
