WBC Open Thread for 03/15/09
Yesterday was my 27th birthday, and I celebrated it by watching boxing and having a cold. I still have the cold.
Now I'm watching Japan v. Cuba. Bunch of games today, plus the NCAA tournament selection show. Talk about whatever! C'MON WOLVERINES! HIT US WITH A 10 SEED!

Show their jubuliant reaction
at being named to the tournament. Congrats. My Terps squeaked in, too.

I'm looking forward
to seeing my Clemson Tigers get an early lead and choke against Michigan. They do it in football and now basketball. Sigh.

Gary Thorne just announced
that Fukudome was Rookie of the Year. At least he got the team right.

If they meant to exactly split the difference
between College Park and Berkeley, Kansas City was a good choice as the pod site. I can’t wait to see us lose to Memphis.
Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words—"mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

You're assuming we get past Cal
I’m not ready to even go that far.

I hope
I watched MD lose to VA and they did lose to Morgan State this year. No team is truly incapable of beating Maryland.

Sadly true
On the other hand, Maryland is capable of beating every team. They show that every year even as they lose so many stupid games.

That's the kicker
They could lose to #65 and beat #1.

And other baseball fans will know why
if they’ve watched this game. He’s been a beast. Dustin who?

Bottom of the fifth, up 6-0,
let’s just end this thing.

They're doing their best
This Anthony Edwards look-alike pitching for the Dutch sure is trying to give it away.

My best game plan is to sit on the bench and call out specific instructions like 'C'mon Boog,' 'Get ahold of one, Frank,' or 'Let's go, Brooks.' -Earl Weaver
They don't want any part of a brawl
I’d love to see B-Rob take out some frustrations on Sir Sidney on behalf of the Baltimore Orioles.
That was a BS throw behind
Who does Lindstrom think he is, LaTroy Hawkins?
Younger writers, more attuned to the use of the Internet than their older colleagues, may not have a problem with the disappearance of the books. But in past years they didn’t have the Internet as an alternative reference site. They apparently just didn’t feel the need for any information the books provided.

I would say that BRob
was a more than adequate fill-in for PHN Dustin. We all know that he is better than Ped, and with his new contract, he will hit .320, with 50+ doubles, 40+ stolen bases :-)
