No WBC thread?
Guts is getting straight-up smoked. It's 5-1 Venezuela in the bottom of the second inning... maybe Ramon and Melvin spilled all of Guthrie's secrets? Anyway, not a good showing for Guts so far. What are some thoughts about how this will affect the regular season? Is Guthrie really going to be this bad? Is Guthrie's poor performance going to overshadow Jeter's awful performances? Have I reached the word count yet?

Sorry about no thread
I just got home and I haven’t even turned it on. And now it’s time for LOST so I won’t be. I think this’ll do for a game thread.
Also, and this isn’t me trying to squash anyone’s right to free speech and I know we’re pretty loose around here, but it would mean a lot to me personally if people could refrain from using the word “rape” in this sort of context. It’s such a violent, awful word. It makes me uncomfortable to see it thrown around.
Sorry to be Debbie Downer there for a second.
Go USA!
I will not rest until America has universal health care and Derek Jeter is seen for the overrated starfucker he truly is! ~2632
Yeah I’m gonna second the “rape” thing.

My bad
It’s hard to separate internet identities sometimes. There’s reddit, and then there’s Camden Chat, and I will be sure to observe the difference in the future.
I’m sure everyone knows you weren’t being malicious or nothin’, so don’t think twice about it. We cool. BONES

Guts hasn't really gotten any work in
His FB is way down, and that’s why he’s getting slaughtered. He’s not the only one, according to BTB, but he’s definitely slowed way down. Most of his fastballs were 90-91 tonight. yes, it’s in the rain, but he’s a 96-97 guy.
What Ted Williams didn't realize when he asked to be frozen was that when he is revived he'll have to hear about how Matt Wieters was the greatest hitter that ever played baseball.
no he's not...
90-91 may be a bit off his in season fb, but 96-97? i don’t think so.

I'm pretty sure he's a 91-92 guy
I really don’t remember him throwing over 93 last year. Maybe I missed it, but I don’t remember him ringing up the mid-90s.

i think...
if he’s really cranking, MAYBE he hits 94, but 96-97 was danny cabs territory.

When I saw him at MFY
That’s what he was throwing. I guess that was a good night combined with a miscalibrated radar gun.
What Ted Williams didn't realize when he asked to be frozen was that when he is revived he'll have to hear about how Matt Wieters was the greatest hitter that ever played baseball.
Probably mostly the latter
Stadium guns are notoriously high in MPH.

Roberts scores, 7-6 in the 6th

Cesar is doing pretty well also
Maybe they can bring back the knowledge of how to win

Meaningless game
I can understand why Gutz would have a hard time getting up for this game. I don’t think it affects the next round much at all. Maybe this affected his performance. I’m not going to be concerned until this starts to happen in the regular season.
Dont kow if youve been paying attention
but most games the o’s play are pretty meaningless too. I blame a lack of spring thraining on his poor performance, but if you cant pitch a meaningless game, you probably shouldnt have been on the o’s for the past 11 years
