Spring Training Tips
I just made plans to go on my first every trip to Orioles Spring Training. I'm going in two weeks for my birthday. I was hoping some people that have gone could give me a few tips.
-Does anyone suggestion any good hotels in terms of price and location?
-When should I arrive at the stadium to try and get autographs, and where should I go? (I thought I read you could show up early outside the stadium to get autographs).
-Are there any nice restaurants in the area (maybe ones the Orioles eat at)?
-What else is there to do besides watching the O's?
-Anything else people would suggest to a first timer?
Thanks to anyone that can help. I real excited to finally get to go to Spring Training. Hopefully this post can be helpful to other first timers as well.

I went to Spring Training two years ago
Great time. Can’t say much for the Fort Lauderdale area, because I was staying in Miami that week. But Ft. Laud is only 30 miles from Miami. Went to a couple of Orioles games there, but then went to 3 games in Jupiter (home of Marlins and Cardinals), which has an absolutely gorgeous stadium, Roger Dean. Jupiter is about 45 miles north of Fort Lauderdale. Also went to a Mets game at Port St. Lucie, which is about 90 miles north of Fort Laud. So if Orioles aren’t playing on one day, I would suggest trying to go to another stadium for another game, no matter who is playing. Or go check out Miami for a day or two. Have fun, I wish I could go again.

marriott....
on the corner of route 1 (federal highway?) and commercial blvd is perfect! 5 mintues from the stadium, 1 mile from the beach and restaurants. free happy hour, fitness center, pool, nice rooms and good rates. staying there now it’s in a perfect spot, anything closer the stadium is kind of a dump.
arrive at 11am for autographs, near the dugouts and bullpen are perfect spots, players and willing able before/during/after the game.
i’mheading to the game now i’ll update you later

Is that the Courtyard?
If so, I stayed there when I went down in 2007. Really nice place, and I would recommend the breakfast buffet.
