Brad Bergesen Pitching Right Now

 http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2009_04_15_noraaa_chraaa_1

Is this Bergesen's last start for Norfolk? Simon's next turn in the rotation would be 5 days from now, due to the off day tomorrow.

 So far:
3 IP
2 K
0 BB
0 R
1 H
1 HBP
6 groundball outs

He's thrown 46 pitches, 28 for strikes.

Matt Wieters is not playing today, since it's a day game after a night game.

I'm on board

And I wouldn’t mind seeing Eaton getting swapped for Hernandez. This seems to be a good time to find out whether or not some of our older more marginal prospects can actually perform.

Or Not...

He just walked the first two guys in the 4th inning and got two deep flyball outs before allowing a 2-run double.

Final Line

6IP 2BB 2H 3K 2ER. Nothing stellar, but look at who he would be replacing.

For what it's worth

mlb.com thinks Liz will be the guy at least initially.

Liz and Albers

Will be called up to shore up the bullpen for now, but another roster move will be made on Monday to recall a starter.

Liz?

There’s someone who has worked out before

"In a couple of weeks or a month, I'll be excited about this team," Dawkins said. "I've got to get used to saying that -- I'm a Bronco." Then he paused. "I'll tell you one thing -- I'll always be an Eagle."

Actually, not a bad choice for bullpen

his stuff can be really, really good for short periods of time. One inning at a time, or maybe even 2, I think Liz could be useful.

I hate to say "live arm"

but he’s got himself one of those.

OK, I am with you there

Afraid to see him start again.

Either Gary or Jim (or maybe Dempsey) made a good point

Don’t follow a junk baller by throwing a changeup as your first pitch – speed their bats up, go with the fastball they haven’t seen all game.

How is it a changeup if they haven’t seen your fastball yet?
