"When (Adam Jones) comes off the field - good throw, bad throw, good play, bad play - we usually have a conversation anyway. We're always talking during the game. When he came off the field, we talked about it. We very rarely miss opportunities, whether something good happens or something bad. And I very rarely miss what my outfielders do. And especially with him and Nick (Markakis), they already know before I ask them, which is a credit to them. I've never had two young outfielders like that before. They're on top of the game and know how to handle situations. But we'll talk about it anyway. That's part of our relationship."

actually...

there’s a bit in a recent ken rosenthal column that seems to refute the heyman hitpiece on the good doctor. basically, he’s got a couple scouts and execs saying the doctor is the real deal and he’s only getting better, but there’s a also a big hat tip to the crow!

Heyman had no clue what he was talking about last year

and admitted he never watched a full Orioles game last year before he wrote it.

Matt Wieters took batting practice this morning. There were no survivors.

Interesting...

who he doesn’t mention (ahem, Felix Pie).

After listening to Amber's interview with Pie last night I wonder if Pie

would understand what Shelby would tell him. He seems like a nice kid but it was hard to understand him. Although it has to be hard to speak two languages fluently. I do wish him well.

Off-topic

if we’re talking about nicknames, as hinted by Jonathan Quayle, Adam Jones is not Pac-Man or AJ, he is “Dr. Jones”

"In a couple of weeks or a month, I'll be excited about this team," Dawkins said. "I've got to get used to saying that -- I'm a Bronco." Then he paused. "I'll tell you one thing -- I'll always be an Eagle."

also...

if we’re REALLY talking about nicknames, it should be noted that this character being referred to as john shelby is T-BONE shelby. just edged out, in my mind, by sugar bear rayford and disco dan ford for classic o’s nicknames

Shelby is awesome

but more importantly, so are Dr. Jones and Markakis
