Who will win the CC "Birdland" Award this year?

PrintYup, I just made it up. I think its a good idea though. Every year they pick the "MVO", but that's based on stats and such. With Mascot Millar gone, someone's gonna have to do something cool (beating that o's magic dvd is nigh impossible). But yea, we all know what makes someone Birdland; performance, awesomeness, and entertainment factor. So who will it be this year? I'll list a few choices, but feel free to list your own. Remember, its not necessarily the best player, its the most BIRDLAND player!

Didn't we unofficially designate Huff Daddy as the Birdland award winner last year?
I could be mistaken, but I seem to remember several discussions around that being the consensus over the season…
The game-by-game Birdland awards need to be revived, though. Whoever was photoshopping those bad boys last year did a Birdlandish job.

but there was definitely alot of opinion variation, which is what made me want to have an official award we give each year. Hell, I think I may just make a poll asking who was Mr Birdland 08.
And yes, the Birdland game awards were awesome as well, kinda like the NHL’s 3 stars of the game.

We'll figure it out...
We’ll pick a player each game to get a Birdland Graphic… whoever has the most at the end of the year wins the Birdland Award… If Rexx is around we could apply this same logic to the Ravens next season

the only issue i see with that
is it doesnt allow for things like remaking old orioles magic videos, or doing radio shows with porn icons.

I think...
we should have maybe 3 or 4 catagories at the end of the year. # of Birdland wins, Call Up/Addition of the Year (to allow for members who joined the O’s in the middle of the season), and wild card (the player who has endeared themselves to you the most, through over-achievment, on/off field antics, personality, whatever). Then we vote to see who wins out of those chosen from the catagories.

On that note… as I posted elsewhere. MBP for Game 3 will be the player with highest number of votes at first pitch tonight (game 4). That’s how long the poll should be open for voting… ‘til the first pitch of the next game that’s at least one day later.
In the event of a doubleheader, both MBP’s will be voted on until the first pitch of the game that occurs the next business day.

I sure am glad you’ve taken to the idea, because I wouldnt have gone all fancy like you have. Thats awesome. Someday when my great grandkids are reading CC and talking about how amazing it must have been to see Birdland player greats like Izturis, I can say I thought of that and I virtually knew the person that made it happen.
