Yankee Products
I don't understand why we sell Yankee products in our stadiums. In our tripple A Norfolk stadium, half the stuff sold inside the store is yankee clothes/hats. Inside of Camden Yards they sell Yankee products. I went to a Marlins and Braves game last year and both of them stadiums didn't sell products outside of there team. Also, the Yankees are thriving off the hiphop community, as they all wear Yankee products, and don't know shit about the team, and not even from NY. I hope one day that trend will acutally end. Alright, thats off my chest.

Where at OPACY do they sell other teams' merch?
I’ve never seen this before.

outside
I’ve only ever seen the vendors outside selling Yankees gear during O’s Yanks series. They do the same thing when the Ravens play the Steelers. I think the answer is pretty obvious, so many out of town fans come, so vendors can make money.
But I’ve never seen that stuff inside the stadium.

It's there.
In the Orioles store on Eutaw Street. Also Red Sox stuff when the Red Sox are in town. I didn’t go into the store on Opening Day so I don’t know if they had any then, but I’ve seen Yankees and Red Sox stuff in there in past years. It makes me livid.

I know in the Rangers AAA stadium they sell about 4 or 5 other “popular” team hats both in the concourses and in the team stores.

I remember in the past being able to buy the opposing team’s merch (mostly just hats) inside the stadium when they were in town, but I don’t know if this is still the case. And I’ve been to minor league games where you can by the “popular” teams gear as well, but that too was a while ago.

As an O's fan
The idea of selling Yankee gear in our home stadium sounds terrible, but you gotta do what you gotta do right? As long as that money goes towards the team, no biggie.

Think of it this way...
anyone who buys their teams gear in our stadium is traitorous. Their helping our cause.

I have to say
the whole “trend” of wearing alternate colored NY hats for fashion does irk the shit out of me. Right up there with the Pinkies, but someone told me that was played out so I should probably stop.

If only they sold Yankee ballgags
and/or PHN handcuffs. That would be sweet.

I think all hats are being sold to the hiphop community
The NY fashion hats are probably the most popular, but baseball is not the only arena in which people from smaller areas enjoy hating on the big cities. I can’t even tell you how many times I ask someone “oh a Twins fan?” or “nice hat” (to the Brewers throwback hat) and how many times the response is “I just like the logo!”

totally agree!
I was at hersey park last summer and was in line with a guy wearing an O’s hat, being an orioles fan I figured while we waited I could have a nice conversation with a fellow fan but no they liked the hat because it matched his shoes and said O’s on it. I was speechless.

I go to college in upstate NY
everyone is MEts, Yankees, or Red Sox fans. Yea, its rough. But there are people who wear O’s hats, or Orioles hats with the bird logo on them. Now, I KNOW these kids are not O’s fans, because they are from NYC, Long Island, Albany, etc. I dare not even ask them why they are wearing Baltimore gear. And knowing they are MFY or PHN or MEts fans, why in God’s name would they be wearing the gear of an AL East rival? I know I would NEVER wear PHN or MFY apparel, unless I lost a bet to a buddy.
I even see White Sox, Rays, Royals, Angels hats. Bulls***. Wearing for style, color, or logo infatuation is crap. That is for the women (no offense Stacey or 2632)

I would say that
the pink hat thing is for women, but his whole trend is mostly just for morons in general regardless of gender.

I just got back from England
and it constantly amazes me that in a country that doesn’t give a fuck about baseball, there are so many people wearing Yankees hats, but it’s all a fashion thing. One of the bands I manage is from Norway, and their bassist often wears a Yankees cap. Him and I talk about our shared love of football (soccer), but I tried explaining baseball to him once and he just didn’t get it.

I HATE New Era

Twins Enterprise is THE best hat maker out there. And I havent seen them make any of this crap.

Twins is directly responsible for the pink hats.
Fuck them.
New Era makes the on-field caps, and in my experience their caps fit my giant head much better.

New Era hats dont fit my ginormous head
and the front wall is way too high, not to mention theyve now tailored the 5950 directly to the hip hop community, instead, you know, your everyday baseball fans/players. Twins at least fashions their structuring around what looks goon on a normal person (IE not a top hat looking ballcap). Flex fit is also a godsend.
