Shady Seats?
I am planning on taking my grandfather to the Orioles game on monday for Memorial day. He is in his 70's and is very sensative to the sun. Since its a day game I was wondering what are some sections that are shaded? I been to most of the home games this season and never really payed attention to this. I know the terrace box seats are almost all shaded, is anything else?
Thanks

IIRC, the first base side of the stadium will be in the shade.
But if the game starts really early, you’ll probably be in the sun for part of the game unless you’re two-thirds of the way up the upper reserve. The lower reserve will probably be completely covered.

Terrace Box is your best bet
But when we took my grandfather to a game we got club section. The back rows are under shade from the upper deck and then when it got too hot my grandfather was able to go into the climate controlled club level and sit in a comfy chair for a little while.

Club Level
would certainly be your best idea. My mother has similar issues in the sun and absolutely loves the club level for all the reasons that Stacey pointed out. Shade in the back rows (all day long), and the enclosed club level make for a comfy day.

You're smart to ask
Two years ago I got two seats for a day game that had absolutely no shade whatsoever. Making matters worse, the people at the gate confiscated our sunscreen because it was in a metal container. Evidently they have an unwritten rule on bringing in $8 cans of sunscreen into the ballpark. We ended up having to leave in the 4th inning because we were both getting burned.
As it turned out, you we should have left earlier. I had a nasty sunburn.
It had been so long since I went to a day game that I didn’t even think about the shade when I purchased the tickets.
