Koji's spot
I know that they haven't announced who will fill in for Koji's spot on the Thursday, but do we know if they will call up one of the studs from Norfolk, or use Hendrickson in a spot start. Obviously I would love to see them bring up Hernandez, but would making the roster move be too complicated because they don't want to send Koji to the DL, so were stuck with Hendo?

It's going to be Hernandez
Either Walker gets cut, or someone gets optioned (Ray or Berken).

I like Ray
but he needs to work some stuff out. Plus, I’d be afraid that I fit in a skillet if Walker got cut.

what do we do...
if berken, hernandez, and bergesen all turn into legit MLB starters? I don’t think it will happen, but just imagine having GOOD problems…
I mean, thats crazy cool.

That’s almost too much to hope for…3 young legit MLB starters without counting Matuz, Arrieta, Tillman, or Erbe yet.
I wonder if I can bill Jeff Lurie and Peter Angelos for the years of therapy their teams are going to put me through.

good competition.
Which means Norfolk will be stacked for years to come. Someone gets injured or sucks for a while, BOOM! bring up the next dude.

I was actually thinking...
more along the lines of having amazing trade chips for bats, but even at that point we’s still be deep in pitching.

Pitching depth
Some of the highly projected guys are going to get hurt or flop (Loewen, Cabrera), but some of the less thought of guys will turn into solid pitchers (Guthrie). The offense could well be set for a while at a number of positions (RF, CF, LF, 2B, C) and, with young pitchers, I like having Izturis’s glove out there. So, that only leaves future holes at 3B and 1B. If Baltimore uses some of the Texiera monety to give Beltre a long term deal this offseason and to re-up Huff, they won’t need bats. The young guns will have very strict innings limits the next couple of years, so the O’s will need the depth.

I'm not sold at all on Beltre
I’d be alright with bringing back Aubrey, though. If Snyder continues to perform at Bowie and eventually at Norfolk, and earns a promotion to Baltimore in 2010 or 2011, you can certainly slide Huff back to DH.
