On my Facebook page, someone mentioned throwing a 98 MPH fastball at his ribs. I've never understood that line of thinking. If a player is hitting well, why should you hit him? It's not his fault he is so locked in at the plate. He hasn't pimped any of his home runs or shown any of our pitchers up. He had two curtain calls over the first two games and I had no problem with that — especially if you are hitting two homers a game.
Furthermore, when pitchers get into a rhythm and start striking a bunch of guys out throughout a game or series of games, there's never talk of doing anything to the pitcher to try and cool him off. If you want to throw inside on a hitter, I don't see a problem with that. But to purposely hit him? I just don't get it.

He wrote a series of columns for
Yahoo sports (I think), which were quite good.
"In a couple of weeks or a month, I'll be excited about this team," Dawkins said. "I've got to get used to saying that -- I'm a Bronco." Then he paused. "I'll tell you one thing -- I'll always be an Eagle."
Still does
That’s where I got this from. He heaps serious praise on Luke Scott.

and he plays baseball well.
The kind of guy I could get behind.

Granderson is awesome
It’s refreshing to see a major-league player who can express himself meaningfully in writing.
But to purposely hit him? I just don’t get it.
Pedro Martinez, Roger Clemens, and Bob Gibson would like to have a talk with you Curtis.
Doug Glanville is articulate as well.
"Your wife told you to play in New York.
Well, my wife told me you look like a dork." Boo Teixeira guys.
Glanville's an Ivy Leaguer
And a pretty funny dude to boot.

I first stumbled onto a Glanville article a month or so ago.
I was pretty shocked (in a good way) at his writing skills.
He's a regular contributor to the NY Times. I always enjoy his columns.
Met him a few times in college on our spring baseball trips to Florida. He was still relatively close to our coach at that point. Really good guy – would talk to us as if we were teammates and he was just another regular guy. Had some good advice too. Took us out to dinner once my freshman year.
That's cool.....
It’s nice to see some mutual respect, and the overall class that Granderson seems to possess.
Mine as well - on and off the field
The rest of my keeper fantasy league recently voted him the “face” of my franchise. And now that they have done that I am probably gonna go ahead and deal him with Josh Beckett to get CC Sabathia – depending on what the results of the Josh Hanilton MRI are. I think I will be OK rocking an OF with Hamilton, Adam Jones and Raul Ibanez with Jayson Werth, Ben Zobrist or Jorge Cantu taking over for Granderson at DH.
PS. Let me be the latest to voice my love for Adam Jones. I may be late to say it here, but I have had a man crush on him since he was a Mariners prospect. I’ve had him on my fantasy team since 2007. Whenever Jones does something good, am I the only one who start singing “Adam Jones, Adam Jones. Does whatever an Adam Jones can” to the Spiderman theme music or have I been watching the Simpsons movie too much?
I really like Curtis Granderson.
Except for the 2 home runs he hit on us in the series :-). Great speed, hits for some power, triples and doubles phenom, and a guy on an opposing team standing up for LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUKE? That is awesome. Thanks Curtis, but next time, don’t hit so well against us!
I wonder if Curtis Granderson would be interested in being my Facebook friend.

Granderson is a Class Act
I’ve always liked him. He’s a great player with a good head on his shoulders. He’s a guy who truly respects the game.
