Anyone going to Thursday's game? Meetup?
Hey folks, I'm heading to Camden Yards for Thursday's game against the Mets and for once it looks like I'll be there a bit early. Let me know if anyone's interested in meeting across the street to have a few beers and pregame. We can do the Diamond Tavern at the Hilton or Pickle's, depending on what works for people. Not sure about time (I still have to get my ticket), but I'm going to shoot for 6:15. It'd be great to see some of you, and I'm sure the O's would appreciate it if we help drown out the large Mets crowd that will likely be there!
FanPosts are user-created content and do not necessarily reflect the views of the editors of Camden Chat or SB Nation. They might, though.

Go Wednesday instead!
That’s when I’ll be there. You should change your plans completely on account of me and come Wednesday instead :) Added bonus: AJ bobblehead!
Although depending upon how Wednesday goes I could probably be convinced to go Thursday also.

The bobblehead is pretty badass
But I’m meeting up with one of my blog readers who’s a Mets fan (I know, I know) on Thursday, so I have a specific reason to have chosen that date.

Considering
I often bring a Yankees fan with me when the Yankees are in town, I hardly have room to judge you and your Mets fan. My transgression is way worse.

The Mets are just as terrible
Their fans have the same smug attitude, but there’s no history to back it up

I guess you feel that way
because you’re in Philly, but in NYC they definitely don’t. They are the most defeated fan base i’ve ever known. You’d never know that they are in 1st, or in a wild card spot, or a game out, or whatever the situation may be at that moment. The sky isnt falling with them, it’s smashed through their roof and crushed them in their sleep.

I lived in NY for a couple of years
and I never got that feeling, especially from friends who are Mets fans. I had a small sample size, for sure, but I never sensed that they were defeated.
All of the Mets that ever came to Philly were the loud, obnoxious ones. But I guess beer will do that to you.

If you listen to NY sports talk radio
you get a much larger sample size, and 90% of the people that call in (and the hosts) freak at the slightest sign of a slump. Maybe you moved out of NYC before the past two choke jobs?

nobody sells out their team faster than the rich dudes in the lower sections when visiting teams come. nice support LL AA d-bags. nothing like season ticket holders behind the dugouts making sure Yanks and Sox fans have the best seats….what a joke.

Thanks for the insight
what exactly does this have to do with the topic?

besides helicopter blogger, the topic asks if anyone is going to the game and your first reply is “I guess you feel that way” and your second reply is “if you listen to NY sports talk radio.” You never answered the question about going to the game. Sooo,

Never mind
I’m feeling under the weather today (and this fanpost didn’t kick up a lot of interest in the first place – that’s what I get for picking the day after AJ’s bobblehead night), so I’m probably not going to the game. I’ll let you folks know if I’m trying again later this summer.

So you're ditching the Mets fan?
We should definitely have a CC night at the game.

Feel bad about it, but I’m a wuss when I’m not feeling well.

I'd love to go to a CC night
I just need atl east two weeks to take off work. Because as it is right now, when i get a day off, and the Birds are in town, I go. I request off special days like bobbleheads and CC meetups and the game in Philly on Sunday which my family in Philly failed at getting tickets to.
