Pitcher Brandon Erbe, out since late April with shoulder fatigue, will be with the IronBirds on an injury assignment that could last up to 30 days.
Erbe is scheduled to throw a simulated game today and will start slowly with Aberdeen, pitching an inning at first and then adding on to that.
After about three weeks, when he is built up to around four to five innings and 80 pitches, Erbe should rejoin the Bowie rotation.
The 21-year-old Erbe began this season with the Baysox, going 1-3, 0.90 in four starts, the last of which was on April 29th. In 20 innings, he gave up 11 hits with 8 walks and 19 strikeouts.

If only this kid could stay healthy
Then there is a good chance we would be including him in the discussion with our other 3 top pitching prospects.

Sosa tested positive in 2003. ESPN is reporting from NYT reporting.
"Your wife told you to play in New York.
Well, my wife told me you look like a dork." Boo Teixeira guys.

Erbe has nastier stuff
Than the big 3 (4) but he has to stay healthy which is iffy.Hard to believe he’s still only 21. Wish i aged that slow.
Could have knocked me over
with a feather seeing that news about Sosa. Glad it came out before he got any consideration for the Hall.
Trembley sounds like he really wished he could put Wiggy in the line up tonight but he’s going with the set guys. Philly has 3 lefties coming so I guess he’ll see time at 1st up there.
Erbe has more losses (3) than earned runs (2)
Statistical anomaly? Or just bad hitting and defense…
Just because you know how to read, doesn't mean you'll like the book.
He pitched four games before going on the DL
On April 11th he pitched 3 innings, gave up three runs, one earned, and got the loss.
On April 17th he pitched 6 innings, gave up two runs, zero earned, and got the loss.
On April 24th he pitched 5 innings, gave up two runs, one earned, and got the loss.
On April 29th he pitched 6 innings, gave up zero runs and finally got his first win.
So yes, bad defense and bad offense.

Thanks for posting this update
I was wondering if he had disappeared!
Librarians are hiding something
Good work
Nice update. I have been a fan of Erbe for a few years now and still think he has plenty of potential. As stated above, its that damn injury bug again. This particular adventure seemed a little extensive to be just shoulder fatigue. I mean shit, that is one tired arm to need over a month to recover!
