GameThread: Mets (33-29) @ Orioles (27-37)

I wasn't around to get up a GameThread and nobody else was either, so let's all thank Steve. for getting something up last-minute for us, and now let's marvel at how long I have to make this sentence so that it reaches 75 words. Adam Jones Bobblehead! Adam Jones Bobblehead! Adam Jones Bobblehead! Adam Jones Bobblehead! Who wouldn't want a freaking Adam Jones Bobblehead?!

I thought the first one might be a Maier
But…. out all the way.
Actually get to watch this game in real time
So I can be in a game thread without having every play ruined :)
Mets announcers just gave a mention of the simulcast in the Ziegfeld in Manhattan that daveh873 posted about a few days ago.
And WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
Yea,
i am watching SNY broadcast as well. They are downplaying the home run for being wind aided (and it probably was), but give the kid credit, he took the ball the other way with power
guy with that much hype but that humble ... he deserves his ball. Now sheffield ...
I’d take that to a wood chipper and just grind it
going back to nolan for a moment
he’s now walked in 6 straight games
including todays first AB:
14 ab
4 h

Can I add him to my keeper fantasy team
That already has Adam Jones? (And Josh Hamilton, Curtis Granderson, Jayson Werth and Raul Ibanez in the OF). I really want to, but I cant find a way to justify it.
Over Jayson Werth
Reimold will have a better career and has more good-ro-great years ahead of him. I mean, Werth was a catcher for the Shorebirds back when Clinton was still in his first term. Dude ain’t no spring chicken and spent the first half of his pro career as a catcher.
"I don't have a hit-and-run sign, and I believe it's the worst play in baseball." - Earl Weaver
I guess
Werth is so good when he gets on a hot streak which makes my partner irrationally like him. And then I have to convince a Yankees fan that is OK for our fantasy team to have two Orioles in the OF, the Rays startng middle infield, two Red Sox SP and Papelbon.
I can understand the dilemma....
"I don't have a hit-and-run sign, and I believe it's the worst play in baseball." - Earl Weaver
Werth can be a good fantasy player
I had him the few weeks where he homered five times in ten games and stole four bases (including home)… probably easier just cheering for Reimold. Werth is always a good guy to have because of the explosiveness.
by whereswieters on Jun 17, 2009 9:09 PM EDT up reply actions
My question is...
if it’s a keeper league, how many more years is Werth going to be productive vs catching the Reimold Revolution from the beginning….
"I don't have a hit-and-run sign, and I believe it's the worst play in baseball." - Earl Weaver
if it helps
it is a head to head league with two week games. We start 9 batters (a starting lineup and utility) plus 8 pitchers (5 SP and 3RP). Roster is 27 men and we keep 11 (plus a 12th “prospect” – still a rookie). Hard to justify protecting 3 or even 4 OF.
Guess I have to hope Reimold stays a FA in my league and then take another look closer to our transaction deadline and make a decision based on how my team is doing.
Never done a keeper league myself
so take my advice for what it’s worth (not much).
