Mora's Batting 7th
via www.baseball-reference.com
Per Roch, Melvin Mora has been lowered in tonight's lineup to the 7-hole. This should have happened much earlier, but it's good to see that Trembley isn't completely blind to the level of suckitude Melvin's been contributing lately.
Brian Roberts - 2B
Adam Jones - CF
Nick Markakis - RF
Aubrey Huff - 1B
Nolan Reimold - LF
Luke Scott - DH
Melvin Mora - 3B
Matt Wieters - C
Robert Andino - SS

Koji’s Sunday start is in doubt because he’s never heard of a treadmill so David Hernandez might be on his way back up..
What up?

Yes, this lineup is looking um better.
Not really sure whats up with Melvin lately. Like Nolan at #5. Let’s hope all the bats get rolling and stop the silly base running mistakes-I mean you Ty Ty, I like you but that was a major OOOPPPS the other night. If Nolan was up all season and played daily, anyone think ROY??? Go O’s!!!!!

About Reimold
I think having him start the season in Norfolk was the right move. He’d never played a game above AA coming into the season and the organization has been careful about rushing prospects lately. That said, I believe he’s still one of the frontrunners for AL rookie of the year.

Didn't he hit like 10 bombs in spring training though???

He had 4 homers in spring training
Though it was in just 28 ABs. But most people thought he still had things to prove in the minors. And spring training stats aren’t always reliable. Alfredo Simon had a 2.61 ERA through the spring

They’re not always reliable (see Fontenot), but I don’t think you can use Simon. He was getting established and got hurt early. Yes, I know about his career stats.
No one could figure out why we were so intent on keeping Brian Bass either, but that seems to have worked out. Simon might turn out to be valuable yet.

And then he gets 4 rbi in the 7 spot tonight.
Bet Trembley throws him back in the 5 spot ( I hope I am only kidding, don’t get any ideas, DD).
But Mora will now have plenty of opportunities with Huff, Scott, Reimold, DOCTOR (when he gets back on track), and eventually when Wieters jumps ahead of him in the lineup.
I am not saying he hasn’t had his opportunities in the 5 spot, but he produced tonight in the 7 spot (albeit against the Nats). Stick with him there for now, and basically for the rest of his career, with a foreseeable 8th spot before too long. But then again, if he heats up in the 2nd half like he did last year, maybe he’ll stick around in the 7th spot, but gosh darn don’t move him back up, please.
Wow, I sort of said the same thing in 4 or 5 different ways there, my bad.

Dave said pregame that this is not a one-time move
He’s going to keep Nolan at 5 and Mora at 7 for a little while, at least. And since Reimold had three hits and a walk himself, and we scored 11, I’d say that he wouldn’t want to mess with that.

I really like the way he approached hitting in the 7 spot...
Scott is much better to have before him than Huff…I hope they keep it up…
Reimold for 2009 ROY…

I would love that
but right now it is definitely Rick Porcello from Detroit. Maybe Rick will get injured, or start sucking.
Plus, I have Porcello on my fantasy team (although fanhood will always win over fantasy).

That Trembly is ...
a genius – at least for one night.

You'd be sad too if you knew....
you only had nine short innings of baseball, before you have to go home to a house full of screaming little kids.
