Everyone's criticizing the slowness
but I think it’s kind of – kind of – good to see that he isn’t willing to give up on his players very easily. It went a little too long, but…I dunno, I guess I just don’t see it as a particularly awful move.

Well
the lineup doesn’t matter that much, especially over something like 10 games. So it’s hard for me to really care, except to say that it’s good that he believes (rightly or wrongly) in the players he has. It’s a good way to keep the veterans on your side, and a manager basically only has like 4 jobs, and number 1 amongst them is to keep the clubhouse on your side.

but as an English teacher I would rank them differently based on “literary power rankings” and “personal preference.”
Literary power rank: Slaughterhouse 5, Cat’s Cradle, Mother Night
Personal preference: Mother Night, Slaughterhouse 5, Cat’s Cradle
Basis of the literary power rank: critical appreciation, controversy, awards & nominations, lasting legacy (appearance on reading lists and etc).

Slaughterhouse-Five is my favorite Vonnegut by far
I’d put Mother Night and Cat’s Cradle on the same level, just a bit below Slaughterhouse.
Vonnegut, for what it’s worth, ranks himself against himself and puts Slaughterhouse-Five and Cat’s Cradle at A+ and Mother Night at A.

Along with Life After God (Coupland) and Brideshead Revisisted (Waugh)….and maybe Sound and the Fury. But that’s 4. But yeah, Cat’s Cradle as a whole is perfect
