Wieters' Choice of Music
A lot of country and a lot of Nickelback.

I feel like this is a troll, which would be pretty hilarious.

Baseball players have the worst musical taste.

For example, “Thank God I’m A Country Boy.” That was Mark Belanger’s fault.

To be clear, my feelings on the song aside, I’m not adverse to the tradition of playing the song. I do think it’s ridiculous to play the song in Baltimore in 2009, though.

Yes

At Wieters debut they had a thing on the scoreboard of the players picking their favorite songs or performances…terrible stuff. Then again – I’m kind of a music snob. :-(

I think when you play sports

you like terrible music. I used to listen to linkin park before hockey games. Thats between us btw. It never gets out, ok?

That is better than Nickleback

This means we have to hear crap music everytime he bats for a while…I guess i can live with that as long as he performs

does he still have hells bells?

thats far better than nickelback. Nick has been goin the country route though, and i’m just not feelin it.

That song annoys me. First, because it’s a country song. Second, because I’m not sure how being a country boy in any way makes a person more or less able to get me where I need to go. So, double offensive.

I wish just once

that someone like Wieters or Markakis would say something that actually surprises me. I know we have had this discussion here before and the majority opinion is that as long as they perform, who gives two shits about the lack of personality. But isn’t it great to listen to Adam Jones give an interview? Didn’t Kevin Millar always get your attention when he was on the mic?

I am not asking these guys to change their entire personalities and be more out-going, just that a little character here-and-there wouldn’t hurt. And who the hell taught Nick Markakis his public speaking skills?! “um so yeah like…..um so yeah like…um….”
