AJ update, per Roch

Nothing we don’t already know, but…

Adam Jones has been removed from tonight’s game in the top of the third inning after crashing into the fence while chasing Kevin Youkilis’ home run in the first.

Jones’ right shoulder appeared to absorb most of the impact, and his neck can’t be feeling too good, either.

The Orioles will pass along more information as it becomes available. For now, they’re saying he came out for precautionary reasons and is day-to-day.

I might.

NOT because I think he’s any good. He isn’t. He sucks. But I don’t want to rush ANY of the Big 3. No reason for them to come up before Sept. this year, if at all. Let Hill go out there and take a beating. Somebody has to eat innings. Might as well be him.

That’s my first thought as well. Let Hill make a few more starts. If he still sucks when Koji comes back, send him to the BP and let Hernandez stay up.

There are others we could go to first.

At this point, I might, just might, want to see Chris Waters over Adam Eaton I mean Rich Hill

than I have in any three day period for at least the last five years. I’m on hiatus so I can dry out.

FWIW

Guthrie seemed to be coming around before that bad first inning against the Nats.

And Berken’s FIP is running much lower than his ERA.

The Red Sox, not meaning to be jerk-ish,

are the kind of team that tends to eat mid-back of the rotation types for breakfast. He’s got good stuff – if the O’s leave him alone, he’s fine in the fifth slot.

I don't know

This year will have a lot to do with it, but even if Arrieta and Tillman are ready for the rotation next year, beyond Guts and Bergy I don’t know who would displace him unless he totally bombs. Oh I forgot about Koji, but he should end up in the bullpen I think. Oh and David Hernandez. So…nevermind.

at least not in the beginning. I did forget about Patton. He’s been getting knocked around since moving up to AAA though.
