Good to see
Thorne getting some recognition. And Buck Martinez bothers me, but only a little. Hasn’t Gary worked some ESPN games before? Sunday Night Baseball or whatever? Or a playoff game? Seems like I’ve seen him on “the big stage.”
The local AM radio station out here in Bloomington carries Cubs games, which are handled by Pat Somebody doing play-by-play and Ron Santo doing color commentary / “analysis.” They’re good, and I don’t feel like I’m being disloyal by listening to the Cubs because they’ve been the most reliable partner for the Orioles in swapping failed prospects.
Ron Santo takes it all very, very hard when the Cubs lose, however. Or really when anything goes against them. If they blow a lead or lose in extra winnings or walk in the tying run or something, he sounds like he’s having some kind of terrible episode. Hard to believe he’s going to make it in to work the next day, but he always seems to.

Extra innings
Innings not winnings. Take this keyboard away from me; I’m not old enough.

I think Buck
has come a loooooong way since he started out with the O’s a few years back. He actually has some interesting analysis at times, and he’s usually able to break down the technical crap in an understandable way. I’ll go on record. I like him.
