Adam Jones?? Home Run Derby??
I heard today that Adam Jones wants to participate in the Home Run derby.
And I say why not. I think he's much better then Brandon Inge or Nelson Cruz and right up there Joe Mauer. It 'd be a great chance for him to show off his skills on the national stage.
We know he can hit homers, but I think if he chose to be an "upper-cutter" like Prince Fielder he could put 30 or 40 homers a year, although the think he could do that this year.
I can't see why Major League Baseball wouldn't let him in, they're on their hands and knees begging for participants, why not let Adam Jones in?
What do you think?

So you are amongst the
people who believe that this guy can “hit home runs at will”…I will need more proof. If someone has that capability, I think they should utilize it slightly more than what he has in America.

I love when
any Oriole participates in the derby, but realistically there are more deserving guys out there. Jones or Reimold should be there in the future.

The last guy for the AL
Is Carlos Pena, who was added to the team today when Pedroia bowed out (his wife is 7.5 mos. pregnant and has been admitted to the hospital).

Wait, was the Pedroia thing a joke? He has 4 home runs this season...

what about ian kinsler!!!!!!!!!!!

pedroia: also a good hitter, but would have NO business in the derby.

To clarify
Pena replaces Pedroia on the All Star roster, but Dustin wasn’t in the Derby. I’m just saying that the last Derby spot was vacant (I think), and now that Pena’s on the team he’s also in the Derby.

Pena was Pedroias replacement on the all star team
I dont think Pedroia was gonna be the HR derby guy, but since pena is an AS now, he gets in.
Matt Wieters can get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop in under one lick.
