All things considered...

AJ may run away with this thing. If we go with one of the methods we considered originally, using 4 seeds from different criteria, he may own 2 or 3 of the seeds. Being the All Star doesnt hurt. Berg’s making a good case though, and Luke has been an offensive juggernaut to go along with his immense likability, which makes him a good candidate. Should be a good race.

Matt Wieters can get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop in under one lick.

Vote AJ for Most Birdland

Sorry Nick! AJ’s got it going on.

Sorry Nick has been and will always be Birdland to me

All-star or not. I think the all-star voting is so ridiculous anyway, thousands of people vote for whoevers name they know. Adam didn’t even get voted in by O’s fans remember. I like AJ, but let’s not get so carried away about this all-star stuff, every team has to be represented. I hope next year us fans can vote BOTH of these guys to the team.

yea i dont understand all of this "adam jones is gonna run away with MBP" crap

nick leads the team in rbis (on pace for 114 even while slumping), 2nd on the team in doubles, and only aubrey huff has fewer ks (luke scott doesnt count cuz hes got over 100 fewer at bats and only 6 fewer ks).

home runs don’t always win games. if i didnt have to work, i’d go thru and check the numbers on game-winning rbis. those are the ones that count.

I said AJ might

because numbers arent everything in MBP. You can scream Nicks stats from the roof, but how many catches has he made while blowing a bubble? How many pies has he thrown? How many tickets has he given away on his facebook? Adam is putting up the numbers AND being that beyond awesome guy. If you just want stats, vote MVO

Agreed. Adam's not only shown his talent thus far this season, but also his joy and adorableness and how fun he is.

He and Andino as the two piers is quite Birdland.

Ain't it the truth

Everyone is so hyped up about the all-star stuff…Didn’t Sherrill go last year, so why isn’t he birdland? When we get a all-star truly voted on the team I will get pumped.

So essentially, you're not happy for Adam for getting into the All-Star game... even though he is well deserving and IS an all-star... because he wasn't VOTED in?

This is 2009. For crying out loud, Josh Hamilton was voted in. It’s obviously not a legit voting process. So what you’re saying makes ZERO sense. Adam went to the All-Star game and he DESERVED to go to the All-Star game.
Adam is more Birdland than Nicky. Adam is more deserving of the All-Star game than Nicky. (All according to this year). So… yeah. What you are trying to say I have NO idea.

To me

The fact that he was chosen by the coach makes him more legit than those voted in

Meaning

The whole ASG voting is just ridiculous is what I am saying. I simply state that every team is represented, and I was happy for Adam. I am just more a Nick fan is all.

I think Nick

Markakis is what he is. Barring some major physical mutation, Nick will likely never clear 30 homeruns…a number that many of us thought he would hit quite a few times. Markakis is an OBP guy with great discipline and a little pop, which I am cool with.

I can see Nick giving us .300 AVG, 20 HR, 90 RBI on a consistent basis. Unfortunately I was hoping he would be more like a .320 AVG, 30 HR, 120 RBI type guy, but it doesn’t seem likely.
