Around SBN: In Crunch Time, Spurs Don't Change Their Game

It could be worse, O's fans. After getting rained out yesterday, the Kansas City Royals and Los Angeles Angels will play a double header starting at 4:10 local time. Pitching for the Royals in game 1 is Sidney Ponson. In game 2? Bruce Chen.

My condolences to Royals fans everywhere.

This is great

They should go after Rodrigo Lopez too.

He's actually having a pretty good year so far in Philly

I had to watch a little bit of his start last night. It was like looking up an old girlfriend. There was good times before he became Rowdy Roddy.

There's a difference

Rich Hill and Jason Berken probably have roughly similar numbers to Bruce and Ponson. I thought of that when I was posting that. But Rich Hill was a project with upside and Berken is a rookie. Chen and Ponson are proven failures.

Ponson

Every time I see his name on the ESPN ticker, it just boggles my mind. How the hell is he still in the league?!?

KC fans who sit through both games should get some sort of medal.

Lead is a metal

they might think of bestowing some of that upon their noggin if they sit through both those games

Matt Wieters can get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop in under one lick.

And the Royals had Luis Hernandez too! I think he’s back in AAA now.

This is not funny. A story is in the making

As the MFY, Pink Hats, Mets, Phllies, Cubs and Dodgers are the darlings of ESPN and baseball there are franchises that only act as feeder teams for the big 7. Those teams are Pirates, Royals, Padres and to a lesser degree Orioles. Those teams seem to get leftover players no longer in their prime or just not major league level talent. Others sell talent to the big 7 and lie to their fans about rebuilding. When will this stop?

Damn

I only have one Angels player (Napoli) across my three fantasy leagues. I should’ve stocked up, just for the week.

Final Lines

Ponson:
5IP, 6ER, 2K, 2BB, L
Chen:
5IP, 3ER, 3K, 0BB, L

The Royals lost the two games by a combined total of 18-7. I dont miss these two, even though Hill and Berken aren’t much of an upgrade.
