ROY, Brad "3E" Bergesen or Nolan Reimold
if an Oriole wins ROY this season, who will it be? Would be Brad "3E" Bergesen the staff ace or would it be Nolan Reimold who has made our outfield one of the best in the league.
The Case For Brad: He has been the staff ace, you can count on a quality start from him every time he goes on the mound. Did I mention he has a better ERA then CC Sabathia, and is well above the league average in all pitching stats.
His Stats as of Today:
- W-L 6-5
- ERA 3.56
- K 59
- Walks 30
- WHIP 1.28
The Case For Nolan: Nolan Reimold was that final piece the Orioles needed to have a tremendous outfield. He has been leading AL Rookies almost every stat. He isn't hitting like a rookie, he is hitting like a very expirenced hitter.
His Stats as of Today:
- Avg .271
- HR 9
- RBI 26
- Runs 25
- SB 4
Which Oriole do you think would win Rookie of The Year? Brad Bergesen or Nolan Reimold?

As stats currently read, 3E, since Nolan had a really bad finish to the first half his numbers dropped majorly.
However, I think that (as we have already seen) Nolan will continue to improve during the second half and I think he’ll half a really nice finish, possibly hovering .300 or even reaching it, as he did before his slump. I also think he’ll find his home run swing again.
As for Bergesen, I think he’ll bring us a bunch more nice outings and his ERA will continue to drop.
So essentially what I’m saying is that I think that both of these guys will drastically improve this upcoming half. Therefore, I have no idea who would win ROY. I do, however, know that the guys keep calling 3E ROY, as a nickname.

I think it will be Reimold
not because he has had a better year than Brad, but Cy Young voters fall in love with wins and losses over ERA and quality starts. That probably goes the same for ROY voters. Either way it would be as bridland as birdland can be if any Oriole won the award.

Some stats
Nolan has a 109 OPS+ so far; Bergesen has a 128 ERA+
Bergesen also has a much higher VORP (25.7 to 9.9), though he has been up here longer than Reimold.
Overall I think you gotta say Bergesen’s more deserving.

Agreed
Nolan benefited from a very hot streak but has since cooled down. His .808 OPS from a corner OF spot really doesn’t blow you away.
3 E’s 12th in the AL in ERA among qualified pitchers is amazing. His numbers are just barely worse than how he did last year in AA which is insane. I can not understand how one would consider Nolan a better ROY candidate. Not to mention holding Brad’s W-L record against him is just silly.

I think it's gotta be Bergy.
The difference I see is that Reimold’s been good for a Rookie, but Bergeson’s been GREAT for a major leaguer. (W-L record aside – he’s starting to get the ol’ Guthrie run support.)
Also, what’s this “3E” thing?

3 E's in Bergesen
Apparently people kept putting o’s instead of e’s in his name. Somebody else came up with it and I would give them credit but I forget who it was.

Also, Porcello got shelled again last night
5 ER in 5.2 IP against the White Sox. ERA up to 4.62. Of course he still has 9 wins for a first place team, so I don’t doubt that some goons will still vote for him. Ecch.

Beckham
is coming on strong — rate stats are pretty similar to Nolan’s (GB: .295/.371/.468; NR .287/.368/.470) in 50 fewer AB. Reimold still has the lead in HR (9 to 5) and SB (6 to 4, and Beckham has been caught four times, while Nolan is perfect so far).

But Beckham is a bigger name

Back on topic...
I voted for Nolan Reimold. why woudl I do that when 3E has had such a fine year?
It’s bad Joo Joos to say anything good about an Oriole pitcher while the season is under way. Even when the season is over you have to restrict it to things like “He wears cute socks”
Just like an a**hole! Everyone has one and it's usually full of *hit!!!! Warren Sapp
