Orioles absent in the media

This really isn't much of a post but it is something that has been getting to me lately. I am starting to get tired of only hearing what oriole players have to say only through masn and the newspapers like the baltimore sun. The orioles really need to fix this problem. I think the orioles are really hurting them selves. One of the reasons we love the ravens so much is because we kind of feel a connection with the players and i just don't feel that with the orioles. I think it is total crap the the Orioles don't allow there players and coaches to speak anywhere else except for oriole owned networks. Like Nick Markakis he has this great new charity foundation and he is not allowed to advertise it anywhere else except through the orioles. It is just frustrating and if anyone from the orioles reads this you really need to get this changed BIG TIME!!!!!!!. Let me know what you think as a fan!

Watching an oriole game is like having a three hour heart attack!

If you are referencing ESPN

They aren’t going to give the O’s any extra attention until we contend. Thats all there is too it. There have been some nice articles recently about our future. And I dont know what you mean when you say that the connection you have with ravens players is why you like them. I love watching the ravens because they have a sweet defense to watch and they contend almost every year, not because I like the people on the field.

No

I am talking about how the organization does not let the team talk to any other of the media outlets in maryland like other radio and t.v. stations. Personal interviews!!!! You know a way you can get to know the players. Im not worried about ESPN. Like i heard Jake Arrieta on the radio today and it was nice to hear how he was doing down on the farm but once he gets to the Orioles you arn’t allowed to even reach him. The organization does alot of things a** backwards.

I did not know they censor their players and coaches to that extent

So you are saying radio and tv stations around the country could not interview our team without the approval of MASN? I need more information.

Yea

The orioles organization does not allow there players AT ALL to talk to other stations such as 98 rock 1570 WNST, 1370 fox sports radio etc. Other than MASN no other organization can interview players. Now some stations radio and t.v. are granted locker room access but they are not able to say Hey Adam Jones would you mind coming on my sports show tomorrow at 12 oclock. Now ESPN is allowed to interview them but nothing local. It is rediculous.

On going

Now i don’t know about outside the country but definitly in state the players and coachs other than masn can’t be interviewed. But other stations are allowed to broadcast there games. As i had referrenced like if you look at the ravens you hear them all the time but you don’t hear the orioles. I mean you turn on rock and music stations and you can hear some ravens talk or players but u can’t with the orioles.

This actually is a good point when you think about it

Although I love the O’s more, I definitely do feel more of a “connection” with the Ravens players as they’re all over the place spouting their mouths.

Also, Baltimoreravens.com is great in that they give you updated videos of microphones on players during games and constant commentary from all sources.

I guess it has never really hit me because we see the O’s damn near every day, but you’re correct in that I know Ray/Ed/Flacco exponentially more than Nick/Adam/Wieters.

Wow, now you’ve got me thinking about how much shockingly better it would be if we had this from the O’s.

All we get is some stupid ass video blog

Biweekly from Nick and BRob. It’s terrible, though.

Exactly

It is all because of Angelos. They simply arn’t allowed to talk to other media outlets. Iv been in contact with 1370 fox sports and WNST about this issue. It is rediculus because i think they are hurting them selves by not making that connection. Thoughs videos of Markakis and BROB not many people even know about them or even watch them. SO THE ORIOLES NEED TO STEP IT UP IN THE PR DEPARTMENT!!!!
