Rays 3, Orioles 0: Snoozer
This would have been a good game to watch if I was a Rays fan. Young prospect bounces back from a bad second start to throw a complete game, 10 K shutout. Pretty good. I'm not a Rays fan, though, so this game was pretty sucky.
With Brian Matusz being shut down, the Orioles turned to their bullpen in the hopes that they could put together 9 innings of not-sucky pitching. And guess what? They did! Mark Hendrickson allowed two runs in 3.1 innings, followed by Dennis Sarfate, Cla Meredith, Brian Bass, Chris Ray, and Alberto Castillo. Chris Ray (who else) gave up one run, but the rest held the Rays down.
Unfortunately their efforts would not be rewarded. The Orioles loaded the bases with no outs in the first inning against Wade Davis but couldn't score a run. Nick Markakis, Melvin Mora, and Luke Scott left the runners stranded and that was as close as the Orioles would get for the rest of the night. Davis dominated the Orioles for the rest of the night, allowing just three more hits.
Losing sucks, but you know what? In their last four series against the Texas Rangers, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, and Tampa Bay Rays, this team has gone 6-6. Would any of you have guessed that would happen? I know I wouldn't. Hooray not playing losing baseball over the last 12 games!
Tomorrow the Red Sox and their fans invade Baltimore one last time. I'll thankfully be out of town. The good news is that the Orioles have a history this year of winning games when I'm out of town. Maybe that streak will continue!

Nah... but
anymore than his relieveresque 3 innings would have been.
By the way, now that my conversion is over, I’ve been able to keep up the MBP page a little more.
Brian Bob went on a little tear there, but now we’re back to the rookies…. and JESUS.

Yeah, dayzd finally went metric. Had to happen. He'd been saying stuff like "Baseball is a game of centimeters!" for weeks...
so this was merely a formality. Plus, the conversion doesn’t require circumscision, and he already had the green Hamas hat with the Arabic W anyway. Easy decision.

Touche...
Nice. LOL. But really, a core banking conversion… I work at a bank.

Why Chris Waters or whatever other career minor-leaguer we have didn’t start.

Good news!
The Longoria/Roberts picture has surfaced and it will be on the Friday Bird Droppings thread. Yes!

I did not go to the game.
so, and only so I could be at the teevee machine at 10PM to watch Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
Best decision I ever made.

On the Bang-Whimper Richter Scale, this one clocked in as an 8.5 whimperer
Judas Priest guys, four hits off, um, lemme look it up here, oh yeah, Wade “Cy” Davis. Key-ripes, this box score makes it look like phoning it in required too much energy, so they just sent a text. Yeah, cheaper, too.
Welp, it’s Guts against the Sawx tonight. I hope Shaughnessy and Glenn Beck are at OPACY, sharing a box. And decide to drop by Petey’s private suite, where PC Bud will just happen to be visiting. And some crazed slingshot-bearing adolescent kicks the door down and takes out the lot of ’em.
Go O’s!
