Boston Red Sox at Baltimore Orioles, Sep 20, 2009 1:35 PM EDT
Scouting Report from mlb.com:
Red Sox: Making his first Major League appearance since June 19, Matsuzaka worked six shutout innings of three-hit ball last Tuesday in a victory over the Angels at Fenway Park. The 29-year-old right-hander did not allow a hit through four frames and fanned five during the 93-pitch outing. Dice-K is 2-1 with a 4.72 ERA in five career starts against the Orioles.
God know who the Orioles are throwing out there today. I wrote this last Wednesday night. Is Pedro still available?
... and a cut-and-paste from the SBN Preview (see link below):
Today, Baltimore will pin its hopes on rookie right-hander Jason Berken, who has won his last three decisions and is unbeaten in his last five starts. Berken's most recent win came on Tuesday against Tampa Bay, as he allowed five runs and seven hits in 6 1/3 frames to improve to 5-11 to go along with a 6.08 ERA. Berken is 0-2 in his three starts against the Red Sox this season and has surrendered 13 earned runs in 11 2/3 innings of those outings.

Apparently it's Berken
Doesn’t matter, we would lose no matter who we put out there. Damn, I hate the Red Sox.
i'll see if i can add that above...

Dice-K is Japanese Daniel Cabrera
Just let him walk you.
"I hate making excuses. If I suck, then I suck. And I suck. That's the way I'm playing. If you suck, you suck. You have to take responsibility in this game. Right now, that's the way I feel. Yes, I suck." - Jose Guillen/quote of the year
this game is already horrible.

Wieters with a base hit
He is really putting the bat on the ball lately. The power still hasn’t shown, but compared to how he looked at the plate earlier this year, this is a really good thing to see.
Did you know? The Orioles have not been slumping at the end of the year. We haven’t had a three game winning streak, but we haven’t lost like nine out of ten more than once this year.
The team is only depressing due to the Red Sox beating us and because the losses tend to pile up at the end of the year, psychologically.
The Orioles are still growing. Because of Wieters hitting the ball today.

he has shown SOME power
that shot to the flag court the other night was a monster, and he’s taken a bunch out the opposite way.

6-0 in the third? Yeah... no wonder it's quiet in here.
And the Ravens aren’t even on until 4:00! Heh.

A salute to Jim Johnson and Dennis Sarfate
Two out of five pitchers who were able to get out of an inning without giving up a run.
And that's the game
And again – you suck – 2009 Orioles.
Yikes, this is probably what a Gnats game thread looks (and sounds) like
