Reminder: Camden Chat Day @ OPaCY on 3 October 09
If you haven't purchased your tickets to the CC O's game vs the Blue Jays on Saturday, October 3rd, here are the instructions:
Email Patrick Fields (pfields@orioles.com) with the subject line Camden Chat. Patrick is super helpful and quick to respond. He can leave the tickets for you at Will Call to be paid for the day of the game, or you can call him with your credit card information and have the tickets mailed. The tickets are $13 with no service charge and are located in the upper deck behind home plate. I purchased my tickets with no problem.
Let's use this Fan Post to determine who's going and where we'd like to meet pre-game. I know ESPN Zone and Pickles Pub have been discussed, but if you have another idea speak up please. If you are planning on attending the game please comment saying so. Also include in your comment if you want to meet up pre-game and if so, where you prefer. And of course, family and friends are welcome.
Below the jump is the list of people in the original thread who expressed interest in going. I'm sure we'll have a few drop offs but hopefully some add ons as well.

since I was going to the game anyways (we have seats behind home)
I’ll gladly meet up with fellow CC’ers

Ah, shucks.
Can’t make it, heading out of town that weekend.
Sounds like a blast though. Perhaps we can do something like this again next season? That would be awesome, I’d love to go.
Also, sucks I haven’t been around much lately, but I’ve just been so busy, I simply have time for our FANTASTIC team (;D).
But you all have fun… just not too much fun.
"He's a gazelle." -Adam Jones on Nolan Reimold.
I'll be there, but late
Daughter does have a swim meet in Annapolis that day, and she is in the afternoon session that starts at 1. She should be done by 4, by the time I drop her off at Grandma’s, it’ll be the 2nd inning or so before I get there. But I’ll get there.
Jim Palmer: "I said to Nolan, 'Why do you run every ball out like that?' and he said, 'Why wouldn’t you?' "
I was pretty excited for this, but...
I just got a job in Houston and start on Monday…speaking of which, I don’t suppose anyone lives down there and has some words of wisdom for me?
Also, what’s the best way to see the from another part of the country?
Just because you know how to read, doesn't mean you'll like the book.
I can't go :(
Not only do I have to go to a housewarming party that night (for my friend’s 4th apartment in the past year…. yep, but I’m still obliged to go), but I am probably going to be moving that weekend (!!!!!).
I hope everyone has a wonderful time though, and I hope it’s a roaring success so that it happens again next year and I can go!
Im definitely still in...
… will probably come with my wife or a buddy if she ends up having to work. Would love to meet early (4ish) and pregame it a little before batting practice. Any suggestions anyone?
by Wieters Wieners on Sep 21, 2009 10:35 PM EDT reply actions
4ish works for me
It’ll be me and a friend coming. Like I said in the game thread last night, Pickles is probably most convenient, but ESPN Zone would be good in the event we have absolutely nothing to say to each other, because at least there are games :)

Nothing to say to each other?!?!?
We can sit around talking about the Orioles bullpen!!! On second thought…. yeah, maybe your right…
What a depressing time of year. Next year lets do this game earlier when we still have a chance at being .500 or something. This is going to be like an AA meeting….

Yeah, if AA ever met at a bar
it would be exactly like CC Day.

I'll definitely be at this game
I’ll be driving up from Virginia Beach that morning with my girlfriend, so I’m not sure how much time I’ll have to spare before the game. I’ll check this thread to see where you guys plan on meeting beforehand just in case. But probably have to do my pregaming on 95.
Any hotel suggestions near the stadium? I’ve never had to worry about a place to stay when coming back to Baltimore before. Looking for something nice, but without breaking the bank.
Ive said this a million times
but USE PRICELINE. I go to Bmore at least 5 times a year and always use it. I usually pay 75-85 bucks from a 3.5-4 star hotel in the harbor or stadiums area. You wont get a bad hotel and you can pick your area. Its amazing. Ive gotten a $230/night room at the hyatt for 78 bucks. Its the way to go.
i wont make it
got the caps home opener that nite and the skins game the next day. oh and possibly that apple festival during the day ;-)
apple festival?
“well, we have a nice little saturday planned. we’re gonna go to home depot. get some wall paper. maybe bed bath and beyond. i dunno, i dunno if we’ll have time.”
Ok... maybe just one... just one.

I'm still deciding whether I want to buy $1 tickets and sneak over, or if I wanna be legit.
It’s only a difference of…$24.
I do have to work on the 3rd though, from 8 am until 4. Depending on how quickly I get dressed and everything, I’ll probably be parked and everything by 6 or 6:30.
I’m probably bringing a friend, his name is Chris. How long of a walk is it from the Yard to the ESPN zone?
I’m not 21 either, but I do turn in time for next season. Anyway, my buddy will probably buy me some beers during the game. For meeting up pre-game, I think that the Orioles parking lot would be a good place to meet, but of course, there is no tailgating at the Yard.
I’ll bake brownies.

Just e-mailed Patrick to leave tickets at will-call
WHat happened to BSF?

BSF can't go
because it’s his friends birthday party or something.
It’s probably about a half mile from ESPN Zone to Camden Yards. I didn’t realize you’re under 21, although I’m sure you’ve mentioned it. Even if we decide on Pickles I don’t think that’d be an issue for you. Pickles is hardly the beacon of responsible ID checking, especially if we’re outside.
Once we get a list of people going, I’ll email everyone my cell number. I know not everyone will want a bunch of strangers to have their number, but I don’t mind. That way in case there’s any issue when trying to meet up whoever it is can text or call me. I’ve already given my number to several strangers from here and so far no crazies. Hey that reminds me…

Wietersmas was a great day, wasn't it? :)
Even with the rain.
I’m late to making all the arrangements but I’ll definitely be there. Would not want to miss what is sure to be a great time for everyone.

I won’t be getting to the game until the 2nd inning at the earliest.

Anyone thats going to the game should get an email distro going so we can swap cells and work out the details leading up to the game. We are only 10 days away. Did anyone get the custom tees BSF designed lol. Kidding.

We only have four more days for any planning.
This is turning out to be a very loosey goosey affair. I have my tickets at will-call, and I’ll just try to get there as soon as I can. Get off work at 4 pm, hopefully leave for the game by 5. Worst case arrival time would be 6 o’clock.
I barely know if we’re like walking in together or just seeing each other in the stands. Should be a pretty empty yard. Hopefully we’ll see win number 63 or Wieters’ first two home run game or the return of Pie.
Personally, I’ve never even pre-gamed an Orioles game.
And uh…anyone else keep score? I have a feeling I won’t be the only person with an Outside Pitch in my hands.

Depending on my laundry (and weather I guess)
I’ll let you guys know what I’ll be wearing. If it’s warm enough, I’ll put on my sleeveless Natty Boh tye-dye in order to show off my brand spankin’ new Oriole tattoo. (My brother is visiting from his recent move to California just a week later. I wish he could come, because he got an Oriole tattoo in Cali).
But I’ll probably be wearing a long sleeve black shirt with an Adam Jones (2008) jersey. And a purple Ravens hat for visibility.

Just replied this morning.
My computer time is fairly limitted. Remember on Saturday, I’ll be at work from 8 until 4, but I think I should definitely check my e-mail and this thread before heading out.

As for me...
Pretty sure I’ll be rocking a Wi-Hi Wrestling yellow sweatshirt.
Jim Palmer: "I said to Nolan, 'Why do you run every ball out like that?' and he said, 'Why wouldn’t you?' "
Here's me and duck (and zk in the middle)

And if it’s not rainy I’ll be wearing my O’s sneaks:

Yeah they are
But they only made them in boys sizes (the girls ones were pink, barf). I got the smallest size which was a 6.5 but I still have to wear pretty thick socks with them so they aren’t too big. I don’t even care though because they’re so awesome.

So has there been a decision made on
where people are meeting up prior to the game pickles or ESPNzone?

Yo! I'm late, but I'm in!
Just got around to getting my ticket arrangements completed. I’ll be there and I’ll show up wherever before the game to get some drink/air hockey/whatever else on. Keep me posted, please.
The O’s might need us as a good luck charm at this rate.

Going to work now...
Get off at four, and go to the game. Stacey, my number will end with 6078 when I call/text, probably around 6. Who I go with is still up in the air. After I park, I have to go to will-call to pick up my tickets. If everyone is at PIckles and there is enough time, I’ll be sure to walk over. Not too long of a walk.
But yeah. It would be great if we all got to see the 63rd win. And it’s almost fitting that we get to see Hendo tonight.
