Red Sox 10, Orioles 0: So much for going 25-0

Fangraphs tells the story pretty much. The O's were completely out of it before the fourth inning.

Fangraphs tells the story pretty much. The O's were completely out of it before the fourth inning.

Things that were considered when I thought about this recap.

  1. Posting a picture of a blood bath. Turns out not as easy to find a PG picture of that on GIS as I thought it would be.
  2. Posting a picture of a giant turd. Turns out that sort of grossed me out.
  3. Saying how, rather than be forced to talk about Orioles baseball, Brotz13 and I had an actual discussion about feline bowel movements (and I bet he didn't think I'd actually say that here).

Bottom line, it was worse than we probably expected, but not the worst Orioles fans have ever seen. The Red Sox hit 6 home runs, the Orioles had 4 singles and a double. Needless to say, David Hernandez did not heed my advice to stop giving up so many home runs. And to top it off, the Orioles clinched their 12th straight losing season.

Jason Berken pitches tomorrow. It'll be his third time against the Red Sox this year. The other two haven't been pretty.

But i think it sums it up pretty well…

"Chicks who dig home runs aren’t the ones who appeal to me, I think there’s sexiness in infield hits because they require technique. I’d rather impress the chicks with my technique than with my brute strength. Then, every now and then, just to show I can do that, too, I might flirt a little by hitting one out."-Ichiro

So what Moves....

do you think Andy McPhail will make come end of season?? I doubt Mora will return so who do we have lined up to play 3rd?? And do you think he’ll go back after Bedard now he’ll be a free-agent?? This team needs alot of ‘tweaking’ before they will be contenders, and I dont see any of that in this current squad….. There are keepers of course and I cannot believe I’m saying this, but keep Pie, he’s really come along with the Crow’s help, I’m impressed cause I’m no Crow fan thats for sure…..

Unless

Bedard is willing to pitch for peanuts I hope we stay away from that bum. Who wants a half season from an effective, but whiney/sullen Canadian??

Bedard now has a labrum tear

No way do we touch him now.

SEATTLE — The injury-plagued career of Mariners pitcher Erik Bedard just took its most disastrous turn yet.

Arthroscopic surgery on Friday revealed a torn labrum in Bedard’s left shoulder, and the southpaw won’t be able to return to baseball-related activities for four-six months.

Dr. Lewis Yocum, who performed the surgery, also repaired an inflamed bursa during the surgery. Bedard will be in a sling for up to three weeks.

What does Bedard being Canadian have to do with it?

What does Bedard being Canadian have to do with it? Ferguson Jenkins. Larry Walker. Jason Bay. Justin Morneau. Ryan Dempster. Rich Harden. Matt Stairs. Joey Votto. Russell Martin. Corey Koskie. Yeah, none of those Canadians would’ve helped the O’s.

The guy might be whiney and sullen but Bedard’s nationality has nothing to do with it.

Thought we had guidelines here, but in reading some of the four-letter words, I guess not.

So I suppose Guts

handed off the “Giving Up A Fuck-load of HRs” torch to DH. That explains why he is now giving them away like beads to drunk girls at Mardi Gras. Seriously though, how much longer do we have to watch him try to force his shitty fastball on major league batters? Hey David, guess what, they figured out you only throw one pitch. Now try switching it up and not forcing your FB up in the zone ya jackass.

10-0 eh? If it's alright,

I’d like to talk about the Nats/Phillies game I went to last night, which was actually a lot of fun, because I sat with my (Philly fan) friend right on top of the Nats bullpen. The bullpen is open, and there’s about 8 rows of seats right above it, so that if you sit in the front row (which we did), you look down directly into the bullpen and watch the pitchers chillin and eventually throwing. If I cared at all about any of the Nats relievers, it would have been significantly awesomer, but it was still cool.

The really neat part was that 2 of the Phillies’ home runs landed in the Nats bullpen, and one pitcher (Sean Burnett) was nice enough to toss Raul Ibanez’s home run ball right up to my Philly-hatted friend, who was estatic.

The point is, it was a really cool viewpoint, and it was also the first time I’d ever sat in any stadium in a seat where I could watch home runs fly right at me. Good seats in an otherwise mediocre ballpark.

And that’s my irrelevant-to-the-Orioles tale. Um, as for the O’s… at least Wieters had a double? (crickets)

Tonight with the Red Sox

Let’s see an inverted game tonight 10-0, Orioles.

Guidelines =/= no cursing
When discussing the Orioles, swearing and/or cursing is permitted, but try to keep it out of subject lines so it doesn’t show up on the front page.

The guidelines say

No racist, misogynistic or homophobic remarks. It doesn’t say we have to be nice to Canadians.

A slur against a Canadian is racist as far as I am concerned

I know I just got here but … I hope you don’t make Japanese cracks about Koji Uehara. Perhaps there are different classes of Orioles, based on ethnicity. That’s not how I live my life, but I don’t like having religion forced on me, so I will no longer attempt to force my beliefs on anyone.

oh jeez dude

lighten up. If you seriously think any of us has something against Canadians you’re out of your mind. And even if O’sfan21 DOES have something against Canadians, all he did was call Erik a Canadian, which isn’t a slur, it’s the truth. Like when I call O’sfan21 a lazy, uncouth American, I’m not saying anything about Americans.

Ok first its xenophobic, not racist. Canadian is not a race. And second, lighten up, eh?
