I liked this quote in the ST article

We’re ‘Oriolizing’ the stadium"

I don’t know why, but that sounds really exciting to me.

Sounds adoreable to me.

Vizzini: Let me put it this way. Have you ever heard of Plato, Aristotle, Socrates?
Man in Black: Yes.
Vizzini: Morons.

West End Girls, eh?

Now there’s a quality 80’s synth pop duo.

Date of game surcharge?

That’s the stupidest thing ever.

I get 13 games all year, but I never go to my Sunday games. I just exchange tickets as I go. Motherfuckers.

I don't think it affects exchanges at all.

It’s just for people that walk up and buy their tickets, and really, if that dollar makes or breaks going to the game for you, you should probably not be spending the money in the first place.

"I'd like to do something. We all would here," he added. "As I've said before, you just don't want to do anything stupid that you're thinking in May, 'What in the God's green earth was I thinking about?'" - Andy MacPhail 12/8/09

yeah, but that dollar won't make or break the Orioles, either

so why slap your fans in the face?

Gotta pay for Garrett Atkins somehow

It really is dumb to charge a fee for the walk up customer. It seems kind of dumb, it’s not like tickets are going like hotcakes. An extra dollar or two wouldn’t stop me though, unless it seeps into my unconscious.

It's bullshit. Newsflash, O's, you'll sell more advance tickets when you start winning. Stop punishing the fans; we've been punished enough.

WHen you have 26 tickets, one dollar means 26 dollars

and two dollars means 52 dollars. It’s more than “one dollar”

Good to know it doesn’t effect exchanges.

Decreasing Fanbase

I am so sick of this team!!!! Or should i say the owner ship. I love the orioles but hate the owner. You know there are alot of people who don’t have two dimes to rub together and half of the attendance for the oriole games are walk up crowds. They have once again taken something away from the fanbase. You know one of the beauties of baseball is that it is fun to walk up to the stadium and get a ticket to the game. Now you have to pay a price for doing that!!!! It is insane and complete crap!!!

half of the attendance for the oriole games are walk up crowds

Is that based on anything or just angry ranting exaggeration?

by O'sFan21 on Jan 19, 2010 10:58 AM EST up reply actions

Angry!!!

But a good bit of fans are walk ups. Everytime I goto the game there is a huge line for tickets. And dont’ tell me that you agree with what there doing!!!

by Oriolebird88 on Jan 19, 2010 12:36 PM EST up reply actions

I don't agree with it

but I also don’t think it’s THAT big of a deal.

by O'sFan21 on Jan 19, 2010 11:15 PM EST up reply actions

Well

Some people don’t have money to go to the game much less put up an extra dollar or tow to go to the game. That is one of the beauties of baseball. On the day of the game you turn to your friend and say hey man wanna goto the game today. You shouldn’t be penalized for that.
