…ASIA!
I’m firmly behind Melewski here. This team doesn’t necessarily need a giant bat. With increased production, time, and experience the gap in homers and doubles will be filled by Wieters, Bell, Snyder, and Reimold. As a matter of fact, if you look at the teams that have gone to the World Series the last five years, there haven’t been that many with a 40+ homer guy. Aside from Ortiz and Howard there haven’t been any others.
It’s a luxury, and not even an important one. I’d rather have a deep, girthy pitching staff with one or more aces than a “big bopper”.
Not to mention the presence of Bradon Waring in the minors. If that dude comes up swinging the bat he’s been, he’ll be a 40 homer DH on a solid team.
I know its noon on sunday and all, but we really should have developed a drinking game to go along with Stacey's radio appearance

Yeah
After Stacey said that Gonzalez was going to be good but little help, the host felt he had to remind her that “You can say what you want here, we don’t censor anything.” Like Stacey was afraid of pissing off the Orioles organization. Just silly.
A little bit of censorship would be a great improvement to most sports radio
Eliminate like the 5% most extreme opinions on either side of a debate and you might actually have something worth listening to.
Maybe they could have guaranteed the 1st 100,000 tickets sold would be .50 this year, and then got mad when the O’s said they never promised such a thing. That’d be cool.

who wants to talk about the positives? Let’s talk about how we shouldn’t have signed Beltran or Figgins because those are overly expenisive guys who’d block Bell, but we shouldn’t have signed Miggi or Atkins because they are “gum”. I just watched the trailer for “Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps” starring Michael Douglas, Shia LeBouf, and Josh Brolin. Directed by Oliver Stone.
I was ready to kill it
just because it exists. But after I watched it, I sat there thinking, “I might actually see this.” Not because I think it’ll be good, but I loved the cheesy part where they give Michael Douglas back his ridiculous Zack Morris phone. the big difference is
Melvin is gonna be a Super UTIL and Atkins is gonna play every day. Mora, with the right attitude, could be good in that role. He never would have taken it in Bmore though.

I get the impression Mora felt he had a sort of standing the O’s clubhouse and that a bench role on the O’s would be beneath him. Regardless, word on the street is that Trembley and Melvin weren’t exactly BFF and Trembo wanted him out of there.
