Pre-Season Contest Results: Congrats to the fix is in!
Due to the ups and downs of this season, March 2010 seems like a lifetime ago. But it was then that I presented the Camden Chat Pre-Season Contest. The premise was simple: read the two scenarios for each question and choose which one would have a higher total at the end of the season. Twenty-four questions, all about the Orioles.
The winner of the contest with a score of 20 out of 24 is the fix is in. Congrats, fix! You beat out 96 other CC'ers and it wasn't particularly close; the next highest score was 17. As I said in the original thread, the prize is the Camden Chat t-shirt of your choice. Email me your preference and I'll send it out to you right away.
The detailed results for the contest are here, including what each person voted for. If you just want to see the scores, check below the jump.

5th tier FTW!
I think the results were fixed, hence the fix was in.

So 57 of you punks had no faith in me, huh?
Good thing I’m busy or I’d chance down the names and BAN ALL Y’ALL!
It wasn’t even close! 16 to 12? Stacey, you got a good ol’ fashioned Eastern Shore beatdown on this one.
"Walk not down that road, I cannot tell you where it goes. Ask me no more questions - some things you're not meant to know." - The Sword
what in the hell is an eastern shore beatdown?
You know I live in Baltimore, right? I’ll cut you.

You would bring a knife to a gun fight on the Shore, city girl.
"Walk not down that road, I cannot tell you where it goes. Ask me no more questions - some things you're not meant to know." - The Sword
I don't shoot guns
I would cry and then you’d feel sad and come over to make sure I’m ok and that’s when I cut you. I would be using my Baltimore street smarts and my girl wiles.

You'll get him with ice cold water y'all, one dolla.

Baltimore street smarts, huh?
Well, you do know all the good parking garages around OPaCY, I’ll give you that.

not that you can ever find them

Seriously that might be the best thing that's come from me finding CC.
I love that garage.
Rub some $100 bills on it, you sell-out. -duck

ouch.
HR by Izzy, Wiggy, Moeller, Andino – 25 vs HR by Garrett Atkins – 1.
we really thought atkins was going to be decent for the O’s, didn’t we? let’s hope baltimore’s next reclaimation project is more successful (or at least less costly..)
Frankly I'm surprised he hit 1.
If I had gotten the chance to see him swing before making that pick I obviously would have chose differently.

Speaking for all of us in the 11 corect bracket: We don't demand a recount! Low-end Mediocrity Rules!
I mean, how else would you (charitably) describe the team’s record since ’97?
"Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning." Churchill,1942-- a rebuilding year.
Here's to posting the same optimistic guesses next season and getting a better payoff!
This is a pretty good example of how the season outlook changed so dramatically right at the start. I think the average points would be higher if we’d all known about the extent of how long b-rob would be out and gonzalez blowing up as closer right out of the gate.
Ah well, hindsight :)
Gather round I will tell y-all a story
the name of the story is I won something that I forgot about completely.
I don’t really write articles, or good ones. And I’m probably more of a everyday reader and lurker than an every day commenter. I had to spit some coffee on my screen before I realized that YES my handle is on the front page.
Thanks for a unique contest, Camden Chat. This type of thing is what makes it the best Orioles blog in the whole world.
