I hope some of you will take the time to check this out. I found it in my attic a while back when we were undergoing a massive clean-up/renovation. I wasn't even born yet (a year away), but I can totally picture my Dad and Granddad at the game. Living in NC we still made the trip to Memorial stadium every year for as long as I can remember.I scanned this thing in just for the hell of it and had hopes that I could create a fancy viewable/scrollable internet file instead of a straight download, but the effort to scan in every page is enough at this point. Yeah, I'm lazy. I didn't even bother to make any edits.
I hope that you'll find it interesting and I'm sure a lot of you probably have similar stuff laying around. My Dad or Granddad kept score. The ads are also interesting. The gas-saving Nissan ad, for example, was intriguing.
Hard to believe that Reggie Jackson was on this team. That just seems crazy to me.
In 1976 the Orioles finished second in the American League East, 10 and a half games behind the Yankees. The O's won 88 games, but the damn Yankees won 97. While checking out baseball reference I also discovered that the Kansas City Royals won the West and won 90 games. Wow. Buck Martinez was on that team. Ha.
This was a pretty damn good Orioles team. I bet they were fun to watch.
Brooksie, the Crow, Bumbry, DeCinces, Jackson, May, Dempsey, Palmer, and effing Wayne Garland won 20 games.
So on and so forth. Thanks for allowing me to share. I love the Baltimore Orioles.
Thanks to duck et. al. for the hosting suggestion. If I messed up something and it doesn't work please let me know.
