I hate that I can’t listen or watch. Stupid work computer with its stupid inability for Gameday Audio.

On the plus side I just found out my new boss is a huge O’s fan. I told her I was taking off Tuesday the 6th and Friday the 9th without saying why and she replied, “Let’s Go O’s!”

I originally took off Tuesday because I thought it would be a day game and I wanted to watch it, but I figure I’ll just take the whole day anyway to gear up.

6 IP, 27 batters

I don’t know how many pitches, but I’d think he’s done.

Worst outing of the spring?

Not too shabby if it is. I’m confused about the strikeouts though…

Might have been trying stuff out

Could have been on orders to try and throw X amount of breaking stuff per batter or per inning, etc.

Sad part is?

I heard that from Rob Dibble on XM.

Thanks to ITT tech, I can now play with my kids at a car wash. I’m very happy.

Nice outing by JJ

fly balls, but good low pitches with movement.

I haven't seen Gonzo pitch yet

not wild about the falling off action out there, but he doesn’t seem like a max effort kind of guy. Hopefully he can be effective out there in the real season.

I hate the signing

I really, really do. But I’m not too worried about his results right here, especially since he’s coming off that back thing.

Do you think Andy might just be gambling with the Atkins and Gonzalez signings, hoping they have good enough first halves to attract some interest at the trade deadline? The Gonzalez signing in particular seems out of place otherwise… and while I didn’t mind it at first, I like it less and less the more I think about it.

I don't

Although you know, we had a closer who was working out pretty well with a year left on his contract and got rid of him so we could pay more for another closer with multiple years. And, you know, get some prospects back – I’m not complaining about the Sherrill trade at all here. It just seems like these two moves don’t really correlate unless the intention is to move Gonzo just like they moved Georgie.

But my gut says, nope, that isn’t it.

I sure as fuck hope the intention was to gamble on Tejada and Atkins and hope to pick up some more prospects in June, though.

His mechanics just look like shit.

I’m sure he’ll be fine and really am not worried about his results now either, but I wish he looked like a better pitcher…

by O'sFan21 on Mar 24, 2010 3:29 PM EDT up reply actions

True

but it seems like a lot of relievers have wonky mechanics but get great results without getting hurt. Look at K-Rod. Watching him pitch makes my elbows both hurt, but the guy does a damn good job.

by Andrew_G on Mar 24, 2010 3:33 PM EDT up reply actions

That's true too.

But his mechanics make it seem unlikely that he can consistently throw the ball where he wants to.

If not, what channel can I find it?
